  • The 2015 Australian Karting Manual has received its third update for the year. The main change is to include the Rotax EVO engines and the subsequent kart/driver weights to be used in KA competition classes. There are also a few other changes, such as tribunal re-wording allowing sidepods to pass beyond the rear tyre when wet weather tyres are fitted.   • Kart360 report that Superkarts USA! (or more specifically, SKUSA's CEO Thomas Kutscher) is sueing the MaxSpeed Group for infringment of copyright. The legal action pertains to Stock Moto class rules. More on Kart360 HERE.

  • Entries are now open for this year's Jason Richards Memorial which will be hosted as Round 5 of the 2015 Rotax Pro Tour Series at Sydney's Eastern Creek circuit. The meeting will also crown the 2015 NSW State Champions in the relevent Rotax classes. Supplementary Regulations and other details are on the round's Event Page HERE.


  • Tyre tenders for the supply of race tyres for Karting Australia competiion from 2016 will be opening soon, most likely before the end of June. From a business perspective, these contracts have the potential to be quite lucrative for the winning tenderer. From a sporting perspective, they have a huge influence on the success of the sport, particularly with regard to cost and driving enjoyment of the respective classes. "Suitably qualified manufacturers of Kart race tyres in conjunction with the Australian Importer/Suppliers of such tyres are invited to advise Karting Australia that they would like to receive the Tender Package" KA has published. Interested parties need to fill in the preliminary information form (download HERE) and forward to admin@karting.net.au

  • The founder of the Tony Kart brand, Antonio 'Tony' Bosio, died earlier this month. He was 92. Bosio started producing kart chassis in the late 1950s before selling the company in 1982/83 to Roberto Robazzi and Carlo Cancarini who still run it today. He was famous not just for developing kart technology, but also title winning bobsleigh designs.

  • Antonio'a legacy marches on. This is the latest marketing for Tony Kart's Racer 401 chassis. Australian distributor is Tony Kart Australia:

  • The second leg of the CIK-FIA Asia-Pacific KF Championship at Macau, along with the CIK-FIA Asia-Pacific KF-Junior and KZ, has been re-scheduled to run from 10 to 12 December 2015. It was originally to have run from 9th to 11th October.

  • Karting Australia has followed CAMS' lead and banned drones (and other unmanned aerial vehicles) from KA events - unless specific permission has been granted by the governing body. More about this is on the KA website HERE.

  • A bunch of karters returned to the Ipswich Kart Club's original Mt Crosby circuit recently. Bitumen racing commenced at the venue in 1967. "Nearly fifty old stagers turned out and had a fine time reliving the glory days of the Ippy club's track" the Queensland Vintage & Historic Karting organisation wrote on Facebook.

  • Below is the Ballarat Kart Club's promotional video. The club plans to have this on show at various retail outlets and hire kart circuits to attract new members. The next round of the Victorian Country Series is at the venue on July 19.
