CRG Australia On Top of the Podium

press release 9 July 2015

CRG Australia’s Jason Pringle made a welcome return to the top step of the podium during round three of the Australian Kart Championship in Ipswich.

Following on from the success at the second round where CRG Australia’s Jaie Robson and Kyle Ensbey finished inside the top three, Pringle made the most of his opportunities to claim the KZ2 win in the Sunshine State.

After starting from sixth place in the final Robson fought his way to the front to hold a comfortable buffer over Pringle as the laps wore down in the 25-lap final.

Robson was left to wonder what could have been however when a mechanical issue forced him onto the sidelines with three laps remaining.

Pringle was then forced to fend off the challenges from a fast-finishing Jake Klarich to cross the line first.

Klarich held onto second whilst completing the podium was former Australian Champion, Chris Hays.  After starting on pole position in the final courtesy of two heat wins defending Queensland Champion Kyle Ensbey crossed the line fifth.

“To have three drivers all in contention for the podium in the final was a very pleasing result for everyone in the CRG Australian team,” said CRG Australia’s Darren King.

“At round two we showed that all of the hard work by everyone in the team has started to pay off when we had Jaie and Kyle on the podium.  To continue this momentum into the next round is what we needed and gives us a great platform for the remaining rounds.

“The competition is very tough though so we won’t be resting on our laurels, Mattia (Madami) and the rest of the mechanics are already working on being even faster next round.”

Pringle’s victory elevated him into second place in the adjusted standings (drivers are able to drop their worst round in the overall points), only three points behind Klarich with two rounds remaining.

The next major event for the CRG Australia team will be the Rotax Pro Tour event at Sydney’s Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway on July 18/19.
