Central Coast Set To Shine for 50-Lapper

On Saturday August 1st the lights are set to shine at the Gosford Showground as drivers come out to honour Alistair (Skip) Barrance at the annual Central Coast 50 lap Shootout, this year presented by Coastal Air Conditioning and the Bell Family.

The 50 lap Shootout is an annual event on the CCSKC calendar where senior drivers all come together in one group to race a traditional speedway program and is an opportunity for drivers to race with out the pressure of championship points.

The meeting this year is also incorporating the Junior Super Series Grand Final where the 2015 Champion will be crowned.

On the program will also be Cadet 9 and Cadet 12 classes that will all have a chance to shine under the bright lights of the Showground.

The 50 lap Shootout is a race designed to cater for all senior Yamaha KT engined drivers  to come together in 1 race meeting and it is expected that 40 drivers will be entered.

After qualifying heats and a trophy dash has been run the drivers will grid up for the 50 lap feature race which will have a competition red at the 25lap mark to allow refuelling for drivers before the 25 lap sprint to the end, and bragging rights for the next 12months.

Just under 12 months ago a great club member Skip Barrance lost his battle with illness. This meeting was his favourite race of the year, every year and in honour of that the club has decided that it will be run in his honour.
Skip’s racing number was 44 and as an added bonus The Baines Family Motorsport Team along with Team Solartint will give $44 to the driver who leads lap 44 during the feature KT Shootout race. 

To add to the spectacle of this meeting , will be the running of the inaugural Junior Super Series Grand Final. The Super  Series has been supported by the CCSKC this year and to have the Grand Final as part of this race will just add to the excitement of the event.

The furtue of the sport in Cadet 9 and Cadet 12 drivers will also be on the program and will complete what is going to be a fun filled awesome race meeting not to be missed.

During the meeting items donated by Skips family will be auctioned off and or raffled to help raise funds for the club . So if you come to the Showground Saturday not only will you see the most economical speedway race meeting , entery $0 for 30 events you may just take home a wonderful prize .

This meeting is scheduled to start at 10am with all the heats and dashes being run before sunset , then all the final races will be under lights. 

If you haven’t had the opportunity to see speedway karts before why not come out to the Gosford Showground on Saturday and watch this spectacle.

Full canteen facilities available during the day and Saturday evening for all food and drink needs.

The meeting is open to all licensed KA (Karting Australia) drivers and we encourage and welcome all drivers to come and give it a go, once you do ... you’ll be back!
