  • The 2016 TaG Super Series will be contested over four rounds, commencing at Lithgow in February. The series schedule is below. The Super Series caters for a wide variety of TaG engines across several weight categories, in both Open and Restricted form.

  • Harrison Hoey has confirmed he will be staying with Ricciardo Kart and joining Patrizicorse for this year's Australian Kart Championship. "We will be in for a massive crack at the title this year. Cant wait for Dubbo!" he wrote on Facebook.

  • The KZ category has been added to the 2016 WSK Super Master Series. "The rest of the WSK calendar hasn't changed" WSK Promotion informed KartSportNews. "There are seven races on schedule, with testing sessions in the two last weekends of January in Adria. Vega Tyres will be the tyre supplier for the whole season." Entry for the WSK Champions Cup opened on New Year's day.

  • Queensland's Brendan Nelson has joined BirelART and and Patrizicorse on a two year deal that started on January 1st. He will compete in DD2 in the Rotax Pro Tour, plus TaG and X30 in the Australian Kart Championship. "I felt I needed a change to get back to the top step in 2016" Nelson said. "I would also like to thank Bart Price and the team at DPE for their support over the last five years." Brendan achieved three national titles and a host of other series and championships on DPE karts.

  • Troy Hunt's Top Gun Racing Team has named one of its biggest driver lineups for the 2016 season. In Rotax Pro Tour, Hunt will field Macca Hazard in Micro MAX, Cooper Allen and Bailey Hazard in Mini MAX, Aron Shields, Taylor Hazard and Finley Allen in J-MAX Trophy, Cody Brewczynski, Jordan Pike, Reece Cohen and Mitchell Kerrison in Junior MAX, Tyler Howard and Hayden Cox in Rotax Light (both stepping up from Jmax) plus Shay Mayes in Rotax Heavy. In the Australian Kart Championship the team will have Noah Sands in Cadet 12, Zac Zamprogno and Blake Fardell in KA4 (Jackson Walls may make selected appearances) and Jason Severino in KA3. In X30 and TAG classes, Top Gun will have Shay Mayes, Kyle Jackson, Byron Woolner, Liam Shepard and new team member Toby Webb.

  • Professional karting veteran Davide Forè has confirmed he will race with Gold Kart in 2016. He had been a factory CRG driver for the past several years. "Thank you very much to RR, Righetti Ridolfi for this opportunity" the 41-year old wrote on Facebook. "See you soon on the track boys!!" Forè's slot in the CRG team has been taken by Tony Kart's Flavio Camponschi.

  • Classes and dates for the 2016 CQ Series:


  • KF World Champion Karol Basz has confirmed he will remain with the official Kosmic Racing team for 2016. Whilst staying with Roberto Robazzi’s OTK group, the Polish driver will also undertake testing and possibly some racing in GT cars.

  • Another European team update - the CKR team has confirmed its two official drivers for 2016 will be Alessandro Pelizzari & Enrico Bernardotto. CKR also said their satellite team, Italkart powered by Modena, will field Francesco Alfiniti and a yet-to-be-named KZ driver.
