Team CRG Swells For Australian Kart Championship Round

press release 5 February 2016

Team CRG Australia’s quest for four consecutive Australian KZ2 Championships will see the orange and black hit Dubbo’s Lincoln County Raceway with no less than seven drivers in the premier class - and high quality representation across the other classes.

Leading the charge in KZ2 is defending Australian Champion, Jason Pringle. He’ll be joined by Kyle Ensbey, Jarryd Ebzery and Matthew Erdmann - whilst Team CRG welcomes new recruits Sam Houston, Tim Farrell and Lachlan Saccardo.

A big contingent of eight drivers will pilot CRG Hero chassis in Cadet 12. A number of emerging youngsters will make up the outstanding CRG presence in the category that features some of the youngest drivers in Australia.

Former Australian Champion Luke May returns to fulltime competition in 2016 competing in the new KA3 Senior category, where he’ll be joined by Brett Robinson, James Litzow and Australian Championship debutant, Jacque Isarin.

Regular front-runner, Rick Pringle will be the CRG pilot in KA TaG and Marshall Crofts will aim to become the Australian KA9 Champion. A further four drivers will compete in the KA4 Junior category.

Team Principal, Chris Dell is looking forward to the first round of the Championship presented by Jayco and Castrol EDGE.

“It is a big undertaking with the number of drivers that we have across the classes,” he said. “We’ve been able to grow this season, which is great testament to the work our team - led by Darren King and Mattia Madami have shown and the results that we have achieved.

“To win the Australian KZ2 Championship again, this time with Jason Pringle, along with the Race of Stars performance from Kyle Ensbey were true highlights of last year.

“Our numbers in Juniors have grown which is really pleasing. We were able to strike success at the Rotax Pro Tour two weekends ago with our youngsters and hopefully that continues in Dubbo.

“Without support of teams such as Shamick Racing and Full Throttle Racing we wouldn’t be in such a strong position, as well as the Kart Connect team - which is our own retail and engine building outfit from St George Kart Centre.

“We’re ecstatic that a number of drivers who’ve been around the sport some time have come across to be part of our team and we hope that they’ll see a benefit from that.

“There is a great mix of new blood to the sport and veterans the likes of Brett Robinson and Luke May in the team this year. Hopefully it will breed an excellent team spirit and we can push forward for that Manufacturer of the Year Award.”

The opening round of the Australian Kart Championship presented by Jayco and Castrol EDGE begins this weekend in Dubbo.
