Trailers & Vehicles Banned From Pit Areas!

  1 April 2016

Trailers, trucks and all other vehicles are to be banned from in the pits at kart tracks throughout Australia. This new regulation will free up lots of space in the pitting areas of kart tracks around the country.

Our source said the new rule is actually a directive from the sport’s insurers. The extra space that will be created in the pitting area is just a bonus of the new rule.

“Our insurers say it’s too risky to have registered road vehicles in an area where there are pedestrians and competition karts.

“Competitors will be required to park and unload their trailer ‘off site’, then carry everything in to the race track.”

The only exception will be for certified trade vehicles, which have to be inside the premises the day prior and cannot leave until the day after the dates on the race permit.

Above: The tents can stay, but the vans, trailers and trucks must go!

With the regulation to be effective as of today, and clubs not having any lead time to arrange adequate parking outside of their venues, this weekend’s race meetings are likely to be chaotic.

“But it will be more like the old days when the only vehicles in the pit areas were the race karts.

“It also means that as the sport re-grows, there will be plenty of space for all the new competitors.”
