Tassie Karting On Show at V8 Round

Karting Tasmania held a very successful karting display at the Symmons Plains V8 Supercars event on the weekend.

With a variety of karts on display and promotional pamphlets being distributed, the aim was to increase the exposure of karting to the general motorsport public and to provide information on how to join kart clubs in Tasmania.

With a couple of Launceston Kart Club karts being used for the younger kids to sit in and get the feel of a race kart, the display was a great way of generating interest in karting in Tasmania.

The display also attracted a couple of drivers with Lee Holdsworth jumping in the Vintage karts on display and Tasmania V8 and NASCAR hero Marcos Ambrose dropping in to sign the LKC podium, alongside Mark Webber's signature.

Another to drop by was Phil Young, personal trainer for HRT drivers James Courtney and Garth Tander. Phil spoke to a number of Tasmanian karters who were at the display about fitness and race day diet. Phil was previously the personal trainer for Jenson Button for 7 years in F1.
