  • DON'T MISS OUT on Sydney's only round of the 2016 Rotax Pro Tour at Eastern Creek. With practice for all classes on Friday 15th April and Qualifying and Racing to follow from Saturday morning onwards, Finals day on Sunday is set to be a thriller! Entries close this Sunday, April 10 (no late entries will be accepted). Supp Regs, entry link and other information is HERE.


  • 269 entries have been received for the AIDKA South Australian State Title. KT Medium is the largest field with 38 starters, followed by 125cc Heavy (30) and Junior J Heavy (28). Tatiara Karting Club will host the event on 6, 7 and 8 May. The full entry list is now online - click HERE.

  • The CIK-FIA has just made a regulation change that, effective immediately, now allows karts to be pushed on or along the race track. This, and some other technical regulation changes are:
    • Section 3.6.3-e is deleted in its entirety, which means pushing a kart on or along the track is allowed. However, the new rule replacing this is somewhat ambiguous - see the actual update HERE.
    • Technical Regulation – Article 18 – General Regulation for OK, "Clarification on the use of a KF2 homologated carburettor". The paragraph “In case of using a KF2 homologated butterfly carburettor with a maximum diameter of 24 mm, comprising two set screws; it must remain strictly original. […] It must comply with the Homologation Form and the tooling deposited by the Manufacturer for the control of the shape of the inlet duct.” is reintroduced.
    • Technical regulation – Article 19 – Specific Regulation for OK-Junior. "Clarification on the use of a KF3 homologated carburettor". The paragraph “In case of using a KF3 homologated butterfly carburettor with a maximum diameter of 20 mm, comprising two set screws; it must remain strictly original. […] It must comply with the Homologation Form and the tooling deposited by the Manufacturer for the control of the shape of the inlet duct.” is reintroduced. (see the actual rule HERE)

  • Happy 40th birthday, Kip Foster! "I did a surprise party for him and had a cake designed off his Supernats winning Arrow kart" Kip's wife, Kerry, told us of her husband's April 1 milestone. The cake was created by Custom Cake Designs in WA. "Even the sticker kit was done perfectly" she added.

  • Retro Racing at the Pacific Coast Titles next month:


  • Next month's round of the Australian Kart Championship will be the 50th National Championship level round for the KZ2 class. The shifter category was previously known as Intercontinental C (ICC).


  • Canberra Kart Club replaced 250 tyres during a working bee at their track on April 2. The work was part of replacing a tyre wall and other general clean up and work. "Members are reminded that this is your club, and to be eligible for the club championship you must have completed a minimum of 2 working bees" the club advised its members. "There will be working bees over the next 3 weekends to prepare the track for the State Championships."

  • Pre-2000 high-reving 100cc screamers racing at Lonato on the weekend - the Final of the Tropheo Primavera Pre-2000. Finals of the other classes (KZ2, Rotax MAX/DD2/Junior, Pre-95 etc) can be found on the track's Youtube Channel HERE.


  • Will this be a bit like the V8 Supercars at Homebush? Sheltered pit places are available in the big equestrian shed for this weekend's Vic Country Series round 2 at Portland. Cost is $20. Contact the Portland club to reserve a spot.

  • BRP’s annual Rotax kart distributor of the year award has been given to Korridas e Kompanhia, the company responsible for Rotax in Portugal and Spain. “We congratulate all our distributors to their success and thank them for their commitment and for the effort they put into their daily business to claim the points of our annual award program”, said Helmut Voglsam, head of Rotax kart business. Rotax customers are supported by 43 authorized Rotax kart distributors and a network of more than 700 service centres and dealers worldwide.
