  • Richard and Tania Bethune are the new owners of Right Karts in New Zealand. "After 13 very successful years at the helm of Right Karts, Gavin, Pam and Tony have made the decision to have a change of pace and direction" a press release stated. The changeover will take effect on November 1st. "Gavin is returning to the new operation on a part time basis, Ryan Urban will continue as the workshop manager and continue to deliver our renowned Bullseye Race Engines." Rotax, Arrow (DPE) and OTK Exprit have all endorsed the sale and will continue to be distributed by Right Karts.

  • Australia's Oscar Piastri has grabbed a podium at the third round of the German Championship at Genk (which is actually in Belgium) on the weekend. Driving with Ricky Flynn Motorsport, Oscar finished third in Final One, then 6th in Final Two. "Didn't quite have the pace in Final 2 and finished P6 but did get to the lead briefly" he wrote on Facebook. He had earlier enjoyed two thirds and a fifth in the heats. "(It was) a good result leading up to the final round of the CIK European Championship in two weeks back here at Genk. Big thanks to my sponsors HP Tuners and RaceRender LLC, my awesome team Ricky Flynn Motorsport, ONE Engines, my mechanic Ethan, engineer Moose and all my friends and family for your support." Prior to the German event, Oscar spent two days testing a Formula 4 in Northern Wales.

  • IKD have expressed their thanks to absolutely everyone who donated items for last Friday Night's auction at Bolivar, plus those who provided funding and/or assistance to the trailer/kart theft victims. "It's a great feeling to know that there are so many wonderful people out their in the Karting community willing to help a mate or four. Thank you again for your support!"

  • Two Victorian race meetings that run back-to-back next month offer karters the chance to compete against others of similar licence grade. Both events have a history of interstaters arriving to upset the locals, and hopefully this year will be no different! August 7 sees the C & D Grade Titles run at Morwell, while the following weekend (Aug 13/14) the 32nd City of Melbourne Titles will run at Todd Rd. Drivers with C or D grade licences, and P-Platers, can compete at Morwell. Drivers of all levels can compete at the CoM (class dependant). Supp Regs for the C&D Grades are HERE (pre-entry closes August 2). Supp Regs for the City of Melbourne are HERE (entry closes August 8). Don't miss the chance to race your peers - or, even better if you can, race both meetings!



  • Former Formula One driver Rubens Barrichello and his sons Fernando and Edoardo competed in the International Rotax Max Challenge South America a week ago. Rubens dominated DD2, winning the final by over 5 seconds. Fernando grabbed second in Mini MAX while Edoardo crossed the line 4th and set fastest lap in Junior Max.

  • A contingency program at this year's Rock Island Grand Prix will see drivers who succeed on Vega tyres win cash and product. The program is worth $5,600 to participating racers using Vega tyre compounds. "The contingency program is available in all classes where Vega Tires are legal, excluding Vintage and Ignite classes" a press release stated. "Drivers who win a race on four Vega Tires will receive $200 in cash. Those finishing second on Vega Tires will receive a $100 gift certificate from Vega and those finishing third on Vega Tires will receive e a $50 gift certificate from Vega.

  • A Lamborghini Kart Drivers Program has been launched in Italy. Lamborghini Squadra Corse has joined with DR Racing Kart to create a career path that Lamborghini has been working on for its junior drivers towards becoming a Lamborghini GT3 factory driver. The program starts with karting before moving to Formula 4 and then various GT car talent programs. Read more about it HERE.
