Speedway Karters Honour one of the Founders

by Victor Maastricht 25 August 2016

In every form of motorsport there are the special events and races that all drivers crave to be part of and win each year.

In Speedway Karting in NSW one of those events is “The Alan Hann Memorial”.

Alan Hann was the founding President of the Central Coast Speedway Kart Club and is credited with forging speedway into the Karting landscape in NSW.

It had been a 10 week break since the last meeting at the famous Gosford Showground venue and karters were as eager as ever to get back to racing at the speedway, especially for this event.

It was great to the sun finally for a meeting and there were good numbers representing all classes, with some great close racing throughout the day.

We had several new drivers entering their first races, and in Cadet 12 class, Jac Laneyrie continued his great form this year, by winning yet another event.

We had large fields in the KA4 Junior and KA3 Senior Heavy classes which produced some great battles and passing moves throughout all races.
