Hamilton Returns To USA To Defend Street GP Title

press release 21 September 2016

Christchurch kart ace Matthew Hamilton is returning to the town of Lancaster in California this week to defend the S1 stock moto class title he won at the annual Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix kart street race meeting this time last year.

Lancaster is north-east of Los Angeles and as a round of the SuperKarts USA (SKUSA) organisation's annual California ProKart Challenge series it attracts some of the top kart racers in the United States.

Though the track was new to him last year Hamilton topped the S1 class time sheets in qualifying, finished second in the first heat race and third in the second then won the Final (and main event) by just over a second from top US drivers Fritz Leesmann and Ron White.

Joining Hamilton on the racing trip to the Lancaster street meeting is fellow Christchurch karter Tiffany Chittenden, the latter fresh from a class win at the final round (Rnd 8) of the 2016 Giltrap Group New Zealand Roatx Max Challenge in Hamilton earlier this month.
