  13 October 2016

This year's Indianapolis 500 winner, Alexander Rossi, has been confirmed for November's SKUSA SuperNationals XX in Las Vegas.

The American will team up with his very first karting coach, karting veteran Matt Jaskol. They will both race two classes - KZ Pro (formerly ICC) and S1 (125 Moto Honda) - with the factory CRG Racing Team.

“I'm thrilled to be taking part in this year's SKUSA SuperNationals racing alongside Matt and the best karters in the world" Rossi said.

"Matt was and is an inspiration to me and a really big part of the reason I took the next step in racing. He’s an incredible go-kart driver and champion and it’s a huge honor to finally be racing with him."

Rossi joins the likes of Michael Schumacher, Sergio Perez, Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo, Will Power and Marco Andretti as big-name motorsport stars to have taken part in SuperNationals.

"It’s great to see him returning to his roots, where it all began, in karting" SKUSA's Tom Kutscher added.

Perez too?

While he competed in SuperNationals as a kid (80cc Formula Junior Shifter in 2002), ekartingnews has reported rumours that Force India F1 driver Sergio Perez might be back to race karts again this year.

As preparation, Perez was scheduled to attend a three-day test in Mexico with Gian Cavaciuti's GP Kart Racing team.
