The dates and venues for the SP Tools Junior Sprockets events to be held in the January School Holidays have been confirmed.
The Junior Sprockets program is an opportunity for youngsters between the ages of 6 and 14 years to get behind the wheel of a kart.
These days are designed to provide budding young karters with the thrill and excitement of kart racing in a safe and controlled environment while being educated by professional instructors and drivers.
All karts and safety equipment are provided for the participants in the Junior Sprockets beginners program.
For the drivers who are already involved in the sport, a new element of Junior Sprockets has been developed – Junior Sprockets Plus. This element has been designed to provide those drivers who may have been in the sport for a short period of time and already understand the basics of karting.
The Junior Sprockets Plus program focuses on driving techniques and skills to provide current licence holders with a boost in their racing.A total of four events are scheduled throughout January in Victoria and Tasmania.
The South West Kart Club in Cobden will host the first day of the year on January 17 followed by the Go-Kart Club of Victoria in Melbourne the following day.
The program will then head to the Gippsland Kart Club in Morwell on Tuesday January 24 before crossing the Bass Strait for the first time for an event in Hobart on January 31.
Junior Sprockets events will be held during each School Holiday period throughout 2017 with final dates and venues announced throughout the coming months.
The cost per driver is $195, each participant in the beginners section receive a free Karting Australia practice licence.
