Rotax Overflow Tubes For Pro Tour

Dear Rotax Owners & Distributors,
At the AKA meeting held last week, the NKC have agreed to allow us to run to “World Rules” in regards to the overflow tubes on Rotax carburettors. This is great news and means that competitors will be able to simply run the 180mm black tube that is supplied with Rotax engines from new and there is no longer the need to worry about these overflow tubes going into an overflow bottle etc.
Unfortunately, as this decision was only made last week, IKD now needs to get enough stock of the black tubes to guarantee that every competitor can get one and run to the new system. As this tube could not be used previously, it was not an item that was stocked in large quantities by IKD. We have tried to urgently air freight 500 pieces from Rotax hoping that they would arrive before the Lithgow Pro Tour event, but this has not been possible.
Once IKD has stock of the original black tube, the AKA will be issuing another addendum that makes the original item as supplied by Rotax the only tube that can be used. Until this point we need to get through this weekend in a manner which is fair for everyone.
Therefore, IKD has sourced tube that is very similar to the original product (yellow in colour) and will supply each competitor with one (1) piece free of charge on Friday morning for use this weekend.
This tube must be used at the Pro Tour event this weekend by all competitors. It is very quick and easy to install so nobody needs to stress at all.
Those people with more than one engine will have to use the same piece for each engine.
I would like to thank the AKA for adopting this new rule. It is now simpler and easier for everyone and another big step forward for Rotax in Australia.
