Donald Stevens Is The 2013 "Master"

press release 10 April 2013

Round 3 of the NSW Speedway Kart Club - “The Masters” meeting - was held on Sunday 7 April and the question was "Who would Master the Nepean circuit"?

At day's end the answer would be KT Modified Combined driver, Donald Stevens, who came out on top as the highest points scorer of the day.

It was a great meeting for Donald as he took four wins from four starts in the Club's Premier senior class. The division was the largest fielded on the day and Donald was in a class of his own with a massive 26 point gap on second place.

It was pleasing to see lady racer, Courtney Smith, in only her second race meeting ever, stand in 2nd place on the podium at the end of the day. Also in the Premier class was former speedway kart racer now turned Rotax Pro Tour driver, Brent Coghlan, who picked up 3rd over all.

Another driver to do well on the day was Cadet driver, Connor Moreau, who also made it a clean sweep in his class on his way to taking his third Round win. The podium was a repeat of Round 1 with Ethan Rietdyk and Payton Coghlan, who both continue to improve, finishing 2nd and 3rd. So far this season Connor has had 10 wins from 12 starts and is proving to be the bench mark.

However, when the dust settled, Junior driver Daniel Sayre, courtesy of another Round win (his third this season) remained on top of the Club Championship (with younger brother, Andrew, jumping into second place with a win in his Rookie class). It was great to see another young lady, Taylor Coghlan, pick up her first podium of the year with a 2nd place and Andrew Beattie completed the podium in 3rd.

As mentioned Andrew Sayre made it 2 rounds wins from 3 meetings for the rookie class backing up his round 2 win.

The class is very close in parity with all the competitors racing very close and Liam Camilleri broke thru for his first podium this season with a very classy 2nd place and the ultra consistent Kaidon Brown finished with another podium in 3rd place .

The Clubman Light class saw its third Round winner in three meetings with Jake Baines, the youngest driver in the class, taking the honours over a very competitive field which featured no less than six young lady drivers. The minor places were taken out by two ladies, Alana Onley and Nat Genner, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the Clubman Heavy class, it was the reverse with the eldest driver in the field, Les Green, picking up his first Round win of the season in a slightly smaller field than usual.
