Saller Chasing Pro Tour Podium

press release 10 April 2013

Sydney Karting ace Michael Saller has returned from the New Zealand National Karting Championships with a podium result and a wealth of experience, something he is looking to emulate at this weekend’s round of the Rotax Pro Tour in Newcastle.

On the back of his success at the opening round of the New Zealand Rotax Max Challenge in February, Saller headed back across the ditch for the country’s biggest annual Karting event held over the Easter long weekend.

After wins in the heat races, Michael fought a close battle in the final alongside fellow Australian Lane Moore before settling for third place overall in the Rotax Heavy class.

"New Zealand was a blast and I learnt so much again, I believe it's something I can really use to benefit my racing here in Australia.

“The competition was really tough but I couldn't have done it with without the support of my family and sponsors, MSP Shopfittings and Brad Tyrell from Pacific Kartsport New Zealand," said Saller.

Michael’s performances in the opening rounds of the Rotax Pro Tour have set a benchmark in the competitive Rotax Heavy category, scoring numerous top results. This weekend the series heads to the Central Coast, and a track that Michael holds in high regard.

“Looking ahead to Newcastle, it is one of the toughest circuits on the calendar but is one that holds many good memories within me as it’s where I claimed my maiden State Championship.

“I'm going into this weekend with a very calm attitude and the hope to translate it into a positive result,” Saller concluded.

Round Four of the 2013 Rotax Pro Tour takes place at the Mount Sugarloaf Circuit, Newcastle, NSW from the 12th – 14th of April.
