various karting items...

  • Four AKA addendums have been issued. Full documents on the AKA site HERE. In summary:
    • Minimum age for push kart/quad bike riders in Speedway changed to 18
    • Eligible classes for State Closed Titles to be decided by relevant State Karting Council, up to a maximum of 16 classes, which must be those that regularly run within that state
    • Addition of a new rule that outlines penalty procedures applied during a race meeting
    • A new list of ‘Minimum Prescribed Penalties’ (below) replaces the existing ‘Stewards Quick Reference Guide’ and ‘Suggested Penalties for Non-Conformance of an Engine or Part’ table
  • aka karting penalties 2013

  • Exprit driver Chris Sandrone didn’t have the best of meetings at Bolivar CIK, but showed some encouraging speed in the top group throughout the weekend. The clip below is on-board with Chris during the opening KF-J heat, which has some close racing and plenty of passing:

  • Two Australians feature on the 102-driver entry list for the CIK-FIA European KZ2 Championships at Wackersdorf (Germany) in the middle of this month. Christopher Hays and Jason Faint will both drive with the Energy team. Kiwi Daniel Bray is also entered (on GP Kart) while in KZ, Joey Hansen is listed as driving Tony Kart.

  • A great photo of an Australian product winning in the United States. Lloyd Mack won the PRD Senior division at the latest round of the Los Angeles Karting Championship recently. A race report from the event was published HERE. Photo by LAKC's Joe Stalker.
