Some bits from around the traps...

  • Pierce Lehane enjoyed a strong Sunday performance at the Euro MAX Challenge round in Italy on the weekend. Starting from grid 9, Lehane finished 6th in the pre-final. After some tough battles, he crossed the line 7th in the 16-lap final, 6.6s off race winner Harry Webb. Max Verstappen was second for the factory CRG team. Event report to follow. Results HERE.

  • Video wrap of the Jason Richards Memorial Pro Tour at Geelong on the weekend:

  • Ouch! Jash Adlam strikes the fence at the end of the straight at the Tokoroa circuit in New Zealand. Thankfully, no serious injury.

  • A carbon fibre kart was spotted at the Monaco Grand Prix on the weekend. Karting1.co.uk reports the machine was fitted with a KZ engine and uses the floor to generate downforce. It has a front-end setup more like a Superkart. It's not legal for CIK (or Australian) competition, but apparently there are moves in France to create a class for this type of kart. More photos and info HERE.
