a little bit from here, a little bit from there...

  • The AKA has issued addendums for the 2013 Queensland and New South Wales State Championships. Links to the documents can be found on the Race Calendar page under the respective dates - June 28/30 for the QLD event and October 4-6 for NSW.

  • The Townsville Kart Club is calling Cadet, Rookie and Junior drivers to a ‘meet and greet’ with V8 Supercar driver Tony D'Alberto. It will take place at the track on Wednesday July 3 from 2 to 5pm. The parent/guardian of potential participants must contact Peter Granata 0407 654 078 or Rob Ainge 0407 114 934.  Some exhibition “races” will take place and there will be a live radio broadcast, free sausage sizzle and prizes. Nick McBride from the V8 Development Series will also attend. The general public is welcome.

  • The AKA has published a pre-entry list for the Queensland State Championships. It can be found HERE.

  • Video of the Senior KF Final at the opening round of the 2013 CIK-FIA European Championships in Spain on the weekend (Italian commentary). It comes from the live stream of the event and includes the pre-grid activities, the race and podium presentation.

  • IKD has organised for the Mayor of the City of Ipswich, Cr Paul Pisasale, to attend Round 6 of the 2013 Rotax Pro Tour this weekend. Cr Pisasale will initially tour the event, visiting drivers before being part of the official Drivers' briefing on Friday afternoon where he will welcome everyone on behalf of the City of Ipswich.

  • Vintage Karts Tasmania will hold a test and tune day at the Launceston Kart Club on Saturday June 29. If you're interested in the history of karting and want to see some of the old bangers on track, head out to the circuit between 9am and 4pm.

  • The B-Team from Geelong radio station K-Rock 95.5FM got into the action with a pair of junior drivers representing two of the breakfast hosts, Chicken and Marisa, in a challenge during Friday practice. The original plan was for a challenge between the radio hosts on the Thursday but wet weather put an end to that...
