A beautiful, sunny, Tassie winter day greeted participants at the June gathering of Vintage Karts Tasmania, held at the Launceston Kart Club’s Archerville Kartway complex on Saturday the 29th of June.

Approximately twenty five drivers and machines were in action with all era’s of historic karting well represented.

Vintage karting is becoming quite popular across the country and Tasmania is no exception. Many karts have already been restored and many are still being refurbished.

Quite a few people are planning on attending the upcoming Numurkah gathering in November and plans are also afoot for a contingent to attend the planned Australian Vintage Kart Prix in Ipswich in March 2014.

Some of the more notable karts present on the day were John Humphries Twin Mac Zip, Zane Wyatt’s DAP Greyhound/Rotax combination, Stuart Lee’s Yamaha RC100-S and Heath Butt’s Demon XP Super Twin.

As always there were many stories told - some were even true - and in all a good day was had.
