Plenty Of IAME At WSK Master Series

press release 1 August 2013

IAME DRIVER MARSEGLIA DOMINATES THE 60 MINI CLASS AND LORANDI IS THE SERIES CHAMPION OF THE KF-J CATEGORY.

The IAME engines play as protagonists till the last round of the WSK Master Series. Marseglia dominates the 60 Mini with a superb VICTORY and KF-J driver Lorandi a bit unlucky in the Final, but still he is the WINNER of the series.

Yet another great meeting for Marseglia (Top Kart/Parilla) in the youngsters class: 2ndall week end long (in the time qualifying, at the count of the penalties after the qualifying heats, where he finishes twice 2nd and once first, as well as in the Pre-Final), the Italian driver places his winning move in the Final, with a very well earned victory.

In the Championship, only Eliseo Martinez can do better than him. The overall standing sees also Lindh Rasmus (Praga/Parilla) with his 5th position, beside some bad luck in the final Round with two 7th and an 8th place in the qualifying heats, the 24th place in the Pre-Final and the good recovery in the Final with the 12th position. Travagin (Top Kart/Parilla) races good heats in the top ten (8th , 11th  and 9th) and finishes the Pre Final and the Final in 11th place.

Well done for Alexander Zailinger (Tony Kart/Parilla), forced to the “second chance” race, where he finishes 5th and qualifies for the Final.

Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart/Parilla) is the new Champion of the WSK Master Series. This, in the end, is the result that really counts. He reached the end of a championship raced as one of the main characters and ended with a final act where the Baby Race driver experiences some bad luck too. Lorandi, in fact, is pushed out the Final in its very first laps, after good results in both the time qualifying (10th in the Superpole) and the qualifying heats (three times out of four in the top 6).

A shining week-end also for his brother Leonardo, unlucky in the Final as well as his brother, but still author of  the  2nd chrono in the Superpole, 3 victories in the qualifying heats and the 2nd place in the Pre-Final. In total, in the KF-J category, 12 drivers (out of 49) are powered by IAME and 8 of them in the Final. The best, in the end, is Sato Marino (Praga/Parilla), 19th, right in front of Matrono (Tony Kart/Parilla). The good performance by Giuliano Alesi (Tony Kart/Parilla), son of the ex-Ferrari driver Jean, is also worth of mention also: 21st at the end of a race where he well behaved.

CATEGORY: KF
5 IAME engines in the  KF category. Tom Joyner (Zanardi/Parilla) steps into some troubles during the time qualifying, but races good qualifying heats that lift him to the 9th position after the count of the penalties. In the Pre-Final he can’t go over the 23rdplace, but in the Final he recovers well up to the 7th place. Less performing than usual, his team mate Stroll (Zanardi/Parilla), after very good qualifying heats and the 12th chrono in the Superpole, faces some difficulties in the qualifying heats. The 14th place in the Pre-Final and the 25th in the Final don’t do justice to a championship greatly raced by the Canadian driver, who is yet in the FDA program of the Maranello’s famous manufacturer and that ends with the 5th place in the overall standing.

In Castelletto Viganò (Top Kart/Parilla) shows a good potential: 18th after the time qualifying, in the qualifying heats he always finishes in the top 10, achieving the 6thplace after the count of the penalties. The Pre-Final is absolutely unfortunate as he slips back to the 27th position. Surely thanks to some anger and to a very good shape, Viganò can recover at best in the Final up to the 8th position. Dabski (Praga/Parilla) follows an opposite path: the best among the IAME drivers in the time qualifying with the 10th chrono in the Superpole. 6th in one of the Qualifying Heats then, beside two less brilliant races, he finishes the Pre-Final in 8th position. Too bad in the Final he slips back to the 17th place. Bertonelli’s (Zanardi/Parilla) best performance comes in the Pre-Final with the 12th position, before descending to the 23rd in the Final.

CATEORGY: KZ2
A paired week end for the two IAME drivers Manetti and Maxa (both Praga/Parilla). The Italian starts with the 4th place in the time qualifying, then again 4th in Final 1 as well as in Final 2. A constant performance that sets the twice World Champion among the category’s top drivers. Maxa is more swinging, 9th in the time qualifying, 6th in Final 1 after the 7th position following the qualifying heats on Sunday. Too bad the false step comes in the main Final, where he slips back to the 16th place.
