Karting News Briefs

  1 October 2013

a few items for today...

  • Below is a Whyalla Kart Club news story that ran earlier this month on the local television, profiling local female karter Bethany Simpson. "We just want to share what Whyalla SA is doing to promote karting" Jeremy Head informed KartSportNews. "We have a news story like this of some sort every month, either post or pre race meeting." A big thumbs-up to the club for doing this grass roots level promotion!

  • Victoran junior karter, Nikolaj Thomas, finished a great second in the Croatian round of the Sportstil Cup at Novi Marof on Sunday. Nikolaj (below, with Sara Markucic) was representing Lotus Karts in the J-Max category at the event. He is off to Lonato, Italy, for the ROK World Finals and the Autumn Cup (Junior ROK)  in the next fortnight.

  • Well known Victorian karter Ross Harrod broke his arm at the Eastern Lions Kart Club's club day races at Pucka on the weekend. "I was out in front in Clubman Heavy and a mate tried to pass on the last lap" Harrod stated. "He was on two wheels and landed on my arm." We wish him well for a speedy recovery
