Thonon Moves From CRG To Praga

Long-time factory CRG driver Jonathan Thonon has left the team and will now drive for Praga. While the deal is for 2014, he will have his first race with Praga at the WSK Cup final in just over a week, followed by the Vegas Supernationals.

Both manufacturers released statements about Thonon's move, which are below:

CRG and Jonathan Thonon, works driver of the Italian firm since 2002, decided by common consent to stop their collaboration after a fruitful relationship that was extended to the whole 2013 season.

Jonathan Thonon has been wearing CRG colors for all these years as he went on track with team VDK first and then as the main team's works driver. Thonon awarded CRG with a lot of satisfaction including four stunning wins in the KZ1 World Cups of 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011, the podium in Paris-Bercy in 2001, the victories in the European Championships in 2002 (ICA) and 2008 (KZ1), the win in Las Vegas, the 2010 victories in WSK Euro Series (KZ1) and WSK World Series (KZ2) and in the 2007 WSK International Series (KZ2).

In this season, Jonathan Thonon and CRG obtained the fourth place in the KZ European Championship with the podium in Genk and the third place in the KZ1 WSK Euro Series.

CRG thanks Jonathan Thonon for the very good relationship with the firm as well as with the racing team and wishes him all the best for his career and the achievement of many more important results.

Jonathan Thonon Joins Praga Kart Racing!

The KZ driver will race with the factory team for the 2014 season 18 October 2013, Italy — The Praga Kart Racing team is pleased to announce that World Champion driver Jonathan Thonon has joined its official lineup for the 2014 season.

Thonon, who competes in the KZ category, will have his first races with the team this year, at the WSK Final Cup in Castelletto and SKUSA Supernationals in Las Vegas. Continuing into 2014, he will partake in all major events with the factory team.

Thonon is a solid, professional driver with proven results behind the wheel. He has held the title of CIK-FIA World Champion three times (2011, 2009, 2008), CIK-FIA European Champion in 2008, and was the WSK World and European Champion in 2010.

The Praga Kart Racing team and Jonathan Thonon are looking forward to working together during the upcoming season to achieve many successes on the track.
