keeping up to date (and entertained!) with the world of karting...

  • Official video wrap from the Coates Hire Race of Stars:

  • IAME X30 International Final photo gallery on the Remo Racing facebook HERE, featuring Remo, Joseph Mawson and the IAME crew.

  • Danilo Rossi spent time in America earlier this month, working with the US DR Kart distributor, DRT Racing. A total of five new chassis models for TaG and shifter application were put on the track to provide Rossi with feedback to take back to the factory in Italy for minor design adjustments on the 2014 models for the US market. 1978 Karting World Champion and former NASCAR driver Lake Speed, who still races karts from time to time, stopped by to have a drive. The DRT Racing team is hoping to close out 2013 with a strong showing at the Vegas Super Nationals.

  • Italian-based Vroom Magazine are reporting they have tested the Tillotson carburettor (an on-track tunable, diaphragm unit) on a Rotax MAX FR125 (which comes with a fixed jet float bowl carb). An article about the test will be in the November issue.

  • UK's Karting Magazine is reporting, though not confirming, that's it's looking likely the print publication has found a new publisher and might even continue without missing an issue.

  • More than 20 Cadet drivers from the Coates Hire Race of Stars joined in the V8 Superfest celebrations during a street parade through the streets of Surfers Paradise in the lead up to the ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600. Full article with photos on the AKA site HERE.

  • French publication KartMag has posted a great clip on YouTube from last month's Le Mans 24 Hour kart race. It's got track-side, on-board, pit lane and behind the scenes footage:

  • Ramping up the effort for the 2014 Ladies Only special race meeting at Lithgow in January. The club has been conducted the event since 2007 and raised in excess of $100,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The AKA now give this meeting a 'Nationals' recognition:
