Festival of 'Js - Ipswich

Another perfect day greeted 210 Drivers (171 pre nominated) along with their spanner men, families and supporters to the Annual Festival of J’s Meeting on Saturday 2nd November 2013. With the entry requirement to be in by the Wednesday prior to the Meeting, and an additional $10 for a late entry on the day, there was only the confirmation of entry to be taken care of (plus 39 entries on the day) prior to the start of carburation. The two classes featured on the day Senior National Pro at 150 Kgs and Junior National Pro at 130 Kgs and the format was as follows; 1 x 5 minute qualifying session determined by qualifying times – fastest to the front, 2 x8 lap heats, pre final (12 laps) grids from heat points – lowest to the front, with the final (15 laps) grid from pre final results.

The support classes as follows; Drop your worst, cannot drop exclusion/DSQ from event/s, Grids for Heats (Seniors and Juniors 8 laps) 1 & 2 by random draw, Pre final (8 laps) Grids from heat points, lowest to the front and the final (12 laps) grid from pre final results. The Cadets and Rookies 2x 8 lap heats, prefinal of 8 laps and the final 10 laps. The day got under way on time with the first carburation session commencing at 8.30 AM. The racing got under way with;

Rookies Heat 1.

Harrison Hoey jumped away early and lead throughout winning by a very impressive 6.629 seconds over the second place Ryan Suhle with Nathan Herne just .723 of a second back in third Jarrad Costello finishing a further 1.378 seconds away in fourth. It was going to be a day of spectacular racing action and the large crowd of spectators showed their appreciation to this field after the chequered flag dropped. The fastest lap recorded by Harrison Hoey with a 56.783 on lap seven.

Rookies Heat 2

Nathan Herne fought back in the second heat with a very exciting finish just 8 one thousands of a second was the margin over Harrison Hoey after sitting back behind Broc Feeney the front runner for the first five laps before dropping back to finish fourth behind Samuel Poulsen, it was a very good performance by Harrison Hoey who was in ninth position at the end of the first lap, Samuel Poulsen running third for the first five laps before moving forward up into second, but only for one lap before Harrison Hoey snatched the position off him on the penultimate lap, Ryan Suhle finishing in fifth behind Broc Feeney with Max Adams finishing sixth. Only one driver into the 56 second time bracket and it was again Harrison Hoey with a 56.990 on lap five.

Rookies Pre Final

We were to experience something very special watching both Nathan Herne and Harrison Hoey fighting tooth and nail in the pre final for the win, Harrison Hoey leading throughout, up until the final lap with Nathan Herne coming through to take the win by the closest of margins, just 64 one hundredths of a second over Harrison Hoey, this time the crowd gave the whole field a resounding cheer. The first two drivers running away from the rest of the field, with Jarrod Costello 2.254 seconds back in third, Ryan Suhle a further 1.277 seconds away in fourth, Broc Feeney in fifth place with a gap of only .117 of a second.

Rookies Final

We were in for a final and a half, the question on every ones lips was “who would win the final, Harrison Hoey or Nathan Herne” we had 8 laps to wait for the answer, Nathan Herne jumped away with Harrison Hoey in hot pursuit, Herne leading for the first seven laps before Hoey made the pass stick and drove away to a very well judged .320 of a second win over the never say die Nathan Herne, third place to a courageous Ryan Suhle who finished 2.999 seconds back, fourth to Jarrod Costello 1.643 seconds back and fifth a further 1.742 seconds away. The fastest lap recorded by Harrison Hoey on the last lap with 56.932 seconds. After a day’s racing both Harrison Hoey and Nathan Herne where locked on two points each, the overall win going to Harrison Hoey with the win in the final making the decision. After a hard day in the office Ryan Suhle finishing with a total of 9 points on the day to secure third.

Senior National Pro Qualifying

After the 5 minute qualifying session the grid looked as follows; P1 Chris Farkas (#4) 56.780; P2 Terry Cobb (#11) 56.946; P3 James Foster (#92) 56.979; P4 Sean Butcher (#66) 57.060; P5 Oliver Etter (#8) 57.068; P6 Ethan O’Farrell (#55) 57.159; P7 Richard Dimmock (#18) 57.161; P8 Peter Nolloth (#51) 57.275; P9 Jay Schrodter (#6) 57.407; P10 Joshua Crossingham (#15) 57.601; P11 Kyle McGlinn (#12) 57.746; P12 Keishi Aukai (#16) 57.821; P13 Derek Jones (#3) 57.865; P14 Ryan O’Sullivan (#21) 57.893; P15 Brenton Stickley (#83) 58.589; P16 Scott Sorensen (#99) no time recorded. Just 1.809 seconds separating the entire field.

Senior National Pro Heat 1

Chris Farkas sat back in behind Sean Butcher throughout the first heat before snatching the lead on the last lap to take the win, third went to James Foster who moved up into this position past Terry Cobb on lap two, Cobb went on to maintain fourth, fifth Richard Dimmock and sixth to Oliver Etter. The fastest lap recorded by our winner with a time of 56.890.

Senior National Pro Heat 2

Sean Butcher led for the first six laps being followed by Terry Cobb up until the fourth lap before Chris Farkas moved past into second, James Foster sitting in fourth all the way through the heat until lap seven when he passed both Terry Cobb on lap four up into third and then Sean Butcher on the last lap to claim second overall, third to Sean Butcher, fourth going to Terry Cobb again after a pass by Butcher on the last lap. The fastest lap recorded by Chris Farkas with a time of 57.091 on lap six.

Senior National Pro Pre Final

Over twelve laps of racing Chris Farkas was followed by James Foster throughout these two finishing first and second respectively, the action was hot further back with Joshua Crossingham mixing it up, ninth at the completion of the first lap and moving forward, firstly past Peter Nolloth on lap six, then past Terry Cobb on lap seven, again continuing his march towards the front past Jay Shrodter on lap nine up into third and running the remaining three laps to secure that position, fourth to Jay Shrodter, fifth Ethan O’Farrell, sixth to Scott Sorensen who, I am sure would have been thankful to be able to start the final off the third row of the grid. Fastest lap recorded in the prefinal to no surprise Josh Crossingham with a 57.192 on lap six.

Senior National Pro Final

The final over fifteen laps had it all, Chris Farkas considering his domination of the class throughout the heats and prefinal went on to take the final leading from the completion of the first lap, Richard Dimmock, who was always in contention for a place, scrambled past James Foster on the second lap to maintain this spot through until the penultimate lap, was then passed by James Foster, who held the position for just one lap before being passed by both Richard Dimmock and Scott Sorensen on the last lap to finish in fourth place, Richard Dimmock securing second and Scott Sorensen third. Fastest lap recorded by James Foster finishing fourth with a time of 57.185 on lap ten.

Cadets Heat 1

A field of twenty youngsters moved out onto the track for the first heat of racing. After the completion of lap one the order of the first five were; Bailey Douglas from Jac Preston then Thomas Cooper with Rusty Ross in fourth and fifth Ethan Wilcox, Lap 2 saw no change in the first three with Ethan Wilcox up to fourth, Austin Wells up to fifth, Rusty Ross back to sixth and Taylor Morgan back to seventh, further back, Tyler Collins up to ninth with Chris Christensen back to tenth, still further back, and Oscar Targett up to eleventh, Kai Walker relegated back to twelfth, no change on lap three, lap four we watched Ethan Wilcox move forward into third with Thomas Cooper back to fourth, Austin Wells fifth, Rusty Ross sixth, Jett Johnson up to seventh and Taylor Morgan dropping back to eighth, lap five and Austin Wells passed Thomas Cooper up into fourth, Lap six and Austin Wells continued his move forward this time into third, Ethan Wilcox dropping back to fourth, Thomas Cooper maintaining fifth, Jett Johnson and Taylor Morgan each moving up a position, with Rusty Ross back to eighth, Tyler Collins slipped all the way back to fourteenth, giving five of the drivers a one position move forward. The P Platters also taking advantage of all the moves with Christos Vivlios moving up one spot to eighteenth. The penultimate lap saw little movement only Oscar Targett moving past Chris Christensen to finish in ninth overall. The fastest lap recorded by Bayley Douglas with a 58.285 on lap seven.

Cadets Heat 2

Lap two was when the action started with Ethan Wilcox and Bailey Douglas dropping way back to thirteenth and fifteenth respectively leaving the leaders as Austin Wells, Oscar Targett and Jacinta Hoey, first second and third, Sean Bolger up to fourth with Thomas Cooper in fifth, lap three no change first and second with Sean Bolger moving to fourth then Thomas Cooper to fifth with Jacinta Hoey dropping to fifth, lap four saw little movement, Cooper up to second with Sean Bolger maintaining third and Oscar Targett dropping back to fourth no change fifth still Jacinta Hoey, Jacinta Hoey dropped back two further places to seventh on the next lap with moves forward by both Tyler Collins and Jac Preston up to fifth and sixth, both Wilcox and Bailey up to eighth and ninth after the mishap on an earlier lap putting them both out of contention for a top three finish, no change in positions on the sixth lap, the penultimate lap saw changes in positions five Jac Preston up and six Tyler Collins back one, Bayley Douglas getting the better of Ethan Wilcox on this lap. The top five positions as follows; first Austin Wells, second Thomas Cooper, third to Sean Bolger, fourth going to Jac Preston and fifth to Oscar Targett. Best lap recorded by Bayley Douglas who finished eighth with a time of 58.333 on lap eight.

Cadets Prefinal

Again lap two started the changes off with Bayley Douglas passing Austin Wells for the top position early in running, Jac Preston in third, fourth Thomas Cooper and fifth Ethan Wilcox, the third lap and not changes in the first five with Tyler Evans moving to sixth and Rusty Ross back to seventh, further back Sean Bolger continuing his move forward now up to twelfth, Lap four and no change the first three with Ethan Wilcox fighting hard and up to fourth past Thomas Cooper, further back and Sean Bolger now up one more spot to eleventh past Kai Walker, the racing remained without change over the fifth lap, lap six saw no change one through six with Oscar Targett up to seventh and Rusty Ross back to eighth, ninth Jett Johnson and Sean Bolger continued his drive towards the front moving up to tenth relegating Jacinta Hoey outside of the top ten into position eleven, lap seven and still no change this time in the first eight, Sean Bolger now into position nine. Bailey Douglas taking the win by 2.311 of a second over Austin Wells with Jac Preston a further 1.151 seconds back in third with Ethan Wilcox fourth and Thomas Cooper in fifth. The fastest lap recorded by Bayley Douglas with a 58.284 on lap six.

Cadets Final

At the completion of the first lap Bailey Douglas led by a tenth of a second from Jac Preston, third a further tenth back to Austin Wells, next Thomas Cooper 6 tenths away then Sean Bolger up into the first five, lap 2 no change the first five with Tyler Collins moving past Oscar Targett into sixth, lap three and Austin Wells makes a move stick on Jac Preston, Wells now up to second, further back Jett Johnson up to eighth relegating Rusty Ross back to ninth, Wells puts a pass in on Bayley Douglas to take over the lead, back in the pack Ethan Wilcox passes Christensen and Jacinta Hoey drops back to fourteenth, on the fifth lap Oscar Targett gets the spot back off Tyler Collins and moves back to sixth, Ethan Wilcox up to eleventh and Kai Walker back to twelfth, lap six no change the first nine with Ethan Wilcox continuing his move forward up into tenth with Daniel Wells back to eleventh, lap seven of ten sees more changes with Jac Preston back up into second, Bayley Douglas back to third and Sean Bolger up to fourth, Thomas Cooper drops back one position into fifth, lap eight sees Jett Johnson move through into sixth spot with Oscar Targett in seventh and Ethan Wilcox now into eighth, Tyler Collins drops from seventh all the way back to fourteenth, on lap nine Ethan Wilcox after all the good work throughout the final drops back to eleventh giving eighth position over to Rusty Ross, ninth now Daniel Wells, tenth Kai Walker. Austin Wells records a win in the final over Jac Preston then Bailey Douglas with Sean Bolger finishing in fourth and Thomas Cooper in fifth. The overall results after the drop your worst takes affect sees Austin Wells take the win from Bayley Douglas and Jac Preston in third. Fastest lap recorded in the final going to 58.738 by Austin Wells in lap seven.

Junior National Pro Qualifying

A magnificent field of 32 drivers in this the second feature of the day move out onto the track for qualifying, and after the five minute session is completed the grid looks like this; P1 Cameron Shields (#73) 55.839; P 2 Harrison Oddie (#2) 56.261; P3 William Brown (#3) 56.262; P4 Ben Wilcox (#86) 56.310; P5 Damon Ash (#58) 56.3235 and the final position on the third row Zak Hudson (#18) 56.413; we were in for a smorgasbord of racing in this class.

Junior National Pro Heat 1

On the second lap of the heat Harrison Oddie led Cameron Shields from William Brown in third, fourth Ben Wilcox and fifth Damon Ash, Randy Morgan moved through into sixth followed by Wyatt Davidson and then Brock Owen in eighth, ninth Dylan Overland and the top ten made up with Greg Gallagher, in the third lap Harrison Oddie and Cameron Shields come to grief and our new leader is William Brown from Ben Wilcox and then Damon Ash, lap four sees Damon Ash up into second relegating Ben Wilcox back into third, Greg Gallagher up to sixth with Brock Owen back to seventh, further back Reuben Goldsby up to eighteenth and Jaxon Reihana back to nineteenth, lap five and Ben Wilcox retakes second from Damon Ash with William Bruce and Trenton Dunstan passing Caleb Morgan for twelfth and thirteenth respectively, lap six and Ben Wilcox continues his way forward to take over the top spot from William Brown now back to second, Damon Ash continuing in third with Randy Morgan fourth and fifth Wyatt Davidson, meanwhile Reuben Goldsby takes another spot up to seventeenth with Nicholas Haggett back to eighteenth, the last but one lap and William Brown takes the lead again with Randy Morgan moving up to second and Ben Wilcox drops back to third with Damon Ash back to fourth Brydan Sagiadak moved past Caleb Morgan into fourteenth with Rueben Goldsby up to sixteenth and Abby Stace-McInerney dropping to seventeenth. Heat 1 finishes with William Brown first, second going to Randy Morgan and third to Ben Wilcox. The fastest lap recorded by Randy Morgan a 56.375 on lap five.

Junior National Pro Heat 2

Heat two gets under way and on the second lap Cameron Shields leads William Brown with Harrison Oddie back in third, Ben Wilcox moves up to fourth with Damon Ash falling back to fifth, Zak Hudson holds sixth with Randy Morgan moving through to seventh, Wyatt Davidson into eighth and Greg Gallagher ninth while Jordan Kidas drops from seventh back to tenth, lap three and William Brown moves past Cameron Shields whilst Ben Wilcox moves to third with Harrison Oddie back to fourth, fifth is Damon Ash, lap four sees no changes first through seventh with Jordan Kidas up to eighth, ninth Randy Morgan back one and Brock Owen up into the ten, Karla Curtis moves to twentieth with the demise of Ryan Jordan on this lap, lap five sees the continuing battle between Cameron Shields and William Brown fire up again, this time Shields, takes the lead by just 2 tenths of a second over Brown with Ben Wilcox hanging in at third, fourth Harrison Oddie still not out of the question, and fifth Damon Ash, lap six and getting close to the money lap we see no change in the first eight positions, with Randy Morgan moving up to ninth and Brock Owen dropping back to tenth, lap seven and with only .268 of a second separating Shields from Brown and Ben Wilcox 3.931 seconds away in third it is a two horse race to the finish. The first three across the line are as follows Cameron Shields from William Brown and Ben Wilcox in third, Harrison Oddie fourth and Damon Ash in fifth. Junior National Pro Prefinal

At the completion of lap one William Brown led Ben Wilcox by just .150 of a second third Damon Ash, fourth Randy Morgan and fifth Greg Gallagher, lap two no change the first seven with Brock Owen moving to eighth then Dylan Overland back to ninth and Harrison Oddie up into the top ten, lap three saw Ben Wilcox move past William Brown to take over the lead, Damon Ash remaining in third with Greg Gallagher moving through into fourth relegating Randy Morgan back one spot, Jordan Kidas starting to move forward up into sixteenth, no change in lap four all the way back to twelfth Trenton Dunstan up to thirteenth, Kidas now into fifteenth, William Brown snatches the lead back from Ben Wilcox, Greg Gallagher passes Damon Ash into third, Harrison Oddie up to ninth with Overland back to tenth, Trenton Dunstan into twelfth with Caleb Morgan now back to thirteenth, no change in the first three, Randy Morgan up to fourth with Damon Ash now back to fifth, further back Jordan Kidas continuing his move forward now up to fourteenth, lap seven of twelve with Greg Gallagher dropping back to sixth giving Damon Ash and Wyatt Davidson the move up into fourth and fifth respectively, Harrison Oddie up one further into eighth with Brock Owen now ninth, Jordan Kidas taking it one at a time now thirteenth, lap eight and Ben Wilcox again moves to the front, William Brown right on his hammer just .147 seconds back, third still Randy Morgan, fourth Damon Ash and fifth still Wyatt Davidson, did I mention Jordan Kidas now twelfth, lap nine no change the first five, Harrison Oddie up to sixth with Greg Gallagher back to seventh, eighth Zak Hudson, ninth Brock Owen and tenth Dylan Overland, lap ten and William Brown drops back to fourth, Randy Morgan into second and Damon Ash third, Harrison Oddie fifth, Wyatt Davidson back to sixth, mid field Reuben Goldsby to seventeenth past Karla Curtis now eighteenth and Braydn Sagaidak nineteenth, the penultimate lap and we have a new leader Randy Morgan takes the top spot with a lap to go, William Brown back up to second, Damon Ash holding on to third, Harrison Oddie through to fourth and Wyatt Davidson dropping to fifth, mid field and Jordan Kidas up to eleventh, Trenton Dunstan back to twelfth. Randy Morgan holds on to take the win from William Brown second third goes to Ben Wilcox, fourth Greg Gallagher and fifth Zak Hudson. The fastest lap in the prefinal is recorded by Damon Ash with a 56.436 on lap nine unfortunately young Damon was disqualified from the heat along with Wyatt Davidson, the next fastest lap by the winner Randy Morgan with a 56.646 on lap nine.

Junior National Pro Final

Fifteen laps the distance and it was a cake walk for William Brown who took the win by 6.848 of a second over Harrison Oddie who worked his way forward from fifth and was able to snatch the position from Ben Wilcox who was later disqualified giving the position over to Greg Gallagher now up into third, fourth to Jordan Kidas and fifth going to Damon Ash. The fastest lap recorded in the final going to William Brown with a time of 56.103 seconds on lap thirteen.

Tag 125 Light Heat 1

The who’s who of Tag 125 Light was present in the field of twenty five as the first heat got under way, Dalton and Tristan Ellery were here in force and Dalton took the first heat win from Adam Mercer with Troy Morrissey running third, fourth to Tyler Greenbury back again and fifth the other brother Tristan. The fastest lap recorded by Tyler Greenbury a 50.004 seconds on lap number seven of eight.

Tag 125 Light Heat 2

Laps one and two saw no changes in the first ten, Chris Farkas leading Tyler Greenbury by .306 of a second over Ryan Kennedy in third a further .623 of a second back, next Joshua Crossingham with Domenic Mesiti fifth, sixth Scott Sorensen, seventh James Wilkins, eighth Trent Hill, ninth Aaron Rabjones and tenth Shawn McNamara, lap three Tyler Greenbury moves to the front from Chris Farkas, no change all the way through to Shawn McNamara still in tenth, Mika Oksanen in eleventh and Regan Payne in twelfth( only his second drive since an illness has keep him sidelined for the best part of ten years), lap four saw Ryan Kennedy move up into second relegating Chris Farkas back to third, fourth through to tenth no change mid field Nicholas Dalton (current Clubman Light Club Champion, now up into Tag Light) having a battle with Tristan Ellery and getting the better of the lap and taking over fourteenth, John Tatnell (great to see him back) making moves up to eighteenth past Sam Houston now nineteenth, lap five no change the first four Scott Sorensen up into fifth with James Wilkins following, Domenic Mesiti now back to seventh, further back and Lachlan Palmer moves forward one spot into twentieth, lap six sees the first twelve continuing as per the previous lap, thirteenth now Nicholas Dalton past Scott Gray into thirteenth, lap seven of eight, still no change the first ten, with Regan Payne moving into eleventh relegating Mika Oksanen back to twelfth. The final lap sees Greenbury take the win from Kennedy with Crossingham in third. The fastest lap by Tyler Greenbury another 49 second blitz with a time of 49.949 seconds in lap six.

Tag 125 Prefinal

After the first two heats all drivers had achieved all the adjustments that they needed and the racing was on in earnest, on lap two Tyler Greenbury moved forward into first with Ryan Kennedy forward into second Crossingham back to third, Dalton Ellery fourth and Scott Sorensen in fifth, lap three saw movement but not in the first twelve, Troy Morrissey in sixth, Trent Hill seventh and Adam Mercer in eighth, mid field and Chris Burley passed Tristan Ellery for thirteenth, lap four saw little movement at the front but mid field the action was on a plenty, Chris Burley up to twelfth, Tristan Ellery thirteenth with Shawn McNamara back to fourteenth, back further and Jack Ross up into seventeenth with Mika Oksanen back one spot, Evan Brannock and Chris Farkas taking no further part in the prefinal. Lap five no change first through fourth with Troy Morrissey up to fifth, Scott Sorensen back to sixth, Adam Mercer into seventh, Trent Hill back to eighth, Shawn McNamara and John Tatnell up to thirteenth and fourteenth respectively Tristan Ellery back to fifteenth, no change the rest. Lap six Joshua Crossingham up into second past Ryan Kennedy now third, the remainder of the field as per the previous lap, Lap seven no change first through twelve with Tristan Ellery now up to thirteenth, and with the demise of Shawn McNamara in this lap we saw all drivers move up one spot. Tyler Greenbury taking the win from Josh Crossingham and then Ryan Kennedy in third, fourth to Dalton Ellery, fifth Troy Morrissey. The fastest lap recorded by Tyler Greenbury with a time of 50.019 on the last of eight.

Tag 125 Light Final

Tyler Greenbury won the final with an all the way win, by 2.672 seconds over Josh Crossingham in second, third a further 1.800 seconds back Dalton Ellery, fourth just .504 of a second back after a pass from fifth on lap five going to Ryan Kennedy, fifth to Regan Payne (after 10 years out of the seat) sixth Adam Mercer, seventh going to Nicholas Dalton (from Clubman Light up into the main class) eighth Chris Burley, ninth John Tatnell (great drive just back into the class) and tenth Tristan Ellery. The fastest lap recorded by Tyler Greenbury on lap ten, two others into the 49 second laps, Ryan Kennedy a 49.908 on lap nine and Chris Burley a 49.990 on lap ten.

Junior Max Heat 1

The second lap and Brock Lannoy held the lead by .880 of a second over William Brown with Mitch Maddren up to third relegating James Litzow back to fourth, fifth Blake Brooks with Nicholas Andrews moving forward into sixth, Hunter McElrea back to seventh further back and Daniel Plant into ninth with Jackson Gray tenth. Lap three no change the first three, Blake Brooks now fourth, James Litzow fifth, Nicholas Andrews sixth, Hunter McElrea seventh with Daniel Plant up to eighth and Joshua Davey back to ninth, Jackson Gray holding on to tenth but only by .216 of a second from Natasha Herne. Lap four sees Nicholas Andrews move up to fifth James Litzow back to sixth, no change seventh, eighth and ninth, still McElrea, Plant and Davey, and Natasha Herne moves past Jackson Gray to grab tenth.

Lap five sees no change in the first three, Nicholas Andrews up to fourth with Blake Brooks back to fifth, this time no change sixth, seventh and eighth, Litzow, McElrea and Plant, Natasha Herne to ninth, Joshua Davey back to tenth. Lap six sees no change in the first six with Daniel Plant up to seventh and Hunter McElrea back to eighth, ninth still Natasha Herne and tenth Joshua Davey, further back and Joshua Thomson up to twelfth and Aaron Seton back to thirteenth. Penultimate lap sees Nicholas Andrews up to third, Mitch Maddren back to fourth, Blake Brooks running fifth drops away to finish with a DNF, and gives the rest of the field a one spot better
finish from James Litzow up to fifth through to Sebastian Blindell in thirteenth. The final lap sees Brock Lannoy take the win by .637 of a second over William Brown from Nicholas Andrews in third. The fastest lap recorded by William Brown with a 50.479 on lap seven.

Junior Max Heat 2

Lap two sees Nicholas Andrews leading Daniel Plant by 1.092 of a second with Jacob Bright moving into third over Joshua Davey, Natasha Herne fifth, Mitch Maddren to sixth, Aaron Seton back to seventh, eighth William Brown, ninth James Litzow and Brock Lannoy up to tenth. Lap three sees no changes in the first three, Natasha Herne moving to fourth with William Brown to fifth, sixth still Mitch Maddren, Joshua Davey and Aaron Seton back to seventh and eighth respectively, ninth James Litzow and tenth Brock Lannoy. Lap four still no change the first three, William Brown up to fourth, Natasha Herne back to fifth, Maddren and Davey still sixth and seventh, eighth now Brock Lannoy, Aaron Seton back to ninth, Hunter McElrea past James Litzow up to tenth. Lap five sees no change in the first six, Lannoy up to seventh, Davey back to eighth, ninth and tenth still Seton and McElrea. Lap six and there is no change in the first nine with Joshua Thomson up to tenth in front of James Litzow, Jackson Gray taking no further part in the second heat. Lap seven the field remains almost unchanged Aaron Seton moving past Joshua Davey to secure eighth. Nicholas Andrews takes the win by 1.677 of a second over Daniel Plant with a further 2.889 of a second back to Jacob Bright in third. The fastest lap recorded by William Brown with a 50.721 on lap eight.

Junior Max Prefinal

The field remained status quo until the third lap with Nicholas Andrews, William Brown and Brock Lannoy in the first three places, on lap three Daniel Plant moved past Mitch Maddren into fourth and further back Josh Davey passed Aaron Seton into ninth, the following lap saw James Litzow up to sixth, Jacob Bright back into seventh and Hunter McElrea up to tenth with Aaron Seton now just outside the top ten in position eleven. No change in lap five with the first five remaining as they were in the previous lap, the only changes Jacob Bright up to sixth, James Litzow now seventh, no change in positions in lap six with Nicholas Andrews continuing to lead by .388 of a second over William Brown with a gap of 2.415 of a second back to Brock Lannoy in third, lap seven still no change in the first seven, changes with Hunter McElea up to eighth, Natasha Herne now ninth, Aaron Seton tenth and Josh Davey back to eleventh. The race to the flag saw Andrews first from Brown just .304 of a second back in second and Brock Lannoy third 2.707 seconds away.

Junior Max Final

The final had it all, Andrews leading for the first six laps before Brown took over the front running, but only for three laps before Nicholas Andrews regained the lead and went on to finish just .141 of a second to the better of William Brown with a further .436 of a second back to Brock Lannoy. The fastest lap recorded by Nicholas Andrews a 50.367 on lap eleven, William Brown second quickest with a 50.640 on the same lap.

Tag Restricted Light Heat 1

The second lap saw the first changes with Kris Usher up to third, Chris Orders up to fourth, Andreas Hellyar back to fifth, with Matthew Klein leading the strong field of thirty three, second Blair Hislop, further back Geno D’Angelis up to seventh, Daniel Meek eighth, Karl Dunn dropping back to ninth and Mark Vroegop and Brian Calabria up to tenth and eleventh respectively. Lap three no change first four placing’s, Victor Velkov up into fifth with Geno D’Angelis sixth, Daniel Meek seventh, Andreas Hellyar back to eighth, Brian Calabria up to ninth and Karl Dunn back to tenth. Lap four this time no changes first seven, with Calabria, Dunn and Zink up to eighth, ninth and tenth respectively Andreas Hellyar dropping out of the top ten into eleventh, Mark Vroegop back to twelfth and Bianca Herne up to thirteenth, Lap five no changes first five, Daniel Meek up to sixth, Geno D’Angelis now seventh, Brian Calabria holding onto eighth, Kyle Zink up to ninth and Karl Dunn dropping back to tenth. Blair Hislop loses second to Kris Usher on lap six, Velkov fourth, Meek fifth, Calabria sixth, D’Angelis seventh, Zink up to eighth, Dunn up to ninth and Mark Vroegop now tenth. No change in the seventh lap for the first eleven, Matt Klein now a handy 5.039 seconds ahead of Kris Usher, Blair Hislop then another 1.193 seconds further back in third. The fastest lap recorded by Brian Calabria with a time of 52.149 on lap five.

Tag Restricted Light Heat 2

Lap two in the second heat and a total reverse of grid was to see some exciting racing, the second lap saw Kyle Zink leading by .528 of a second from Jack AH Quay with Brian Calabria moving past Nicholas Sieczkowski into third, Ashley Burton up to fifth, Daniel Benefield dropping back to sixth, Evangeline Blindell running seventh and Chris Orders moving through into eighth relegating Gemma Calibria back to ninth and Kris Usher into tenth, Donnelle Waldon up to eleventh. Lap three saw no change in the first six, Chris Orders up to seventh, Blindell back to eighth, Kris Usher into ninth followed by Donnelle Waldon into tenth, Weatherley, Meek and Bianca
Herne up into eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth respectively. Lap four saw no change in the first three, but Nicholas Sieczkowski dropped back to seventh giving Ashley Burton a boost into fourth followed by Chris Orders to fifth, Benefield remaining in sixth, Evangeline Blindell now eighth, Kris Usher ninth and Donnelle Waldon tenth. Still no change the first three, Chris Orders continuing his progress forward, now into fourth, Ashley Burton dropping back to fifth, Benefield remaining in sixth, Nicholas Sieczkowski in seventh Kris Usher in eighth, Evangeline Blindell now back to ninth and Matthew Weatherley now tenth. Lap six saw no change in the first six, Kris Usher now seventh, Nicholas Sieczkowski drops back to eighth, Weatherley to ninth and Waldon into tenth. Lap seven and this time no change in the first seven, Matthew Weatherley up to eighth, Donnelle Waldon ninth and Nicholas Sieczkowski drops back to tenth. Kyle Zink hung on to take a comfortable win by 1.785 seconds over a strong race throughout by Jack AH Quay to finish second, Brian Calabria finishing a fine third just .637 of a second further back. The fastest lap recorded by Brian Calabria a time of 52.405 seconds in lap three.

Tag 125 Restricted Light Prefinal

Eight laps again for the prefinal and Brian Calabria leads from Kyle Zink moving into second position over Matthew Klein after the completion of the second lap, Daniel Benefield fourth, Kris Usher fifth, Geno D’Angelis sixth, Daniel Meek seventh, Ashley Burton eighth, Blair Hislop dropping to ninth and Matthew Weatherley in tenth. Lap three and the first eighth remain as per the previous lap, Weatherley up to ninth and tenth Karl Dunn. Lap four Kyle Zink makes his move into the lead relegating Brian Calabria back to second, no change third through ninth with Victor Velkov into the top ten. Lap five sees only one change Ari Budd into position twenty and Kevin Johnson back to twenty first. Lap six sees movement forward from eighth all the way back to twenty third, Ashley Burton dropping from eighth back to twenty four and taking no further part in the prefinal. The penultimate lap and Daniel Meek and Matthew Weatherley move into sixth and seventh respectively, D’Angelis back to eighth, Jack AH Quay up to twelfth with Donnelle Waldon back to thirteenth. The final lap sees Kyle Zink take the win by 2.519 seconds over Brian Calabria with a further .395 of a second back to Matthew Klein in third place. The fastest lap recorded by Kyle Zink with a 51.994 on lap seven.

Tag 125 Restricted Light Final

A large crowd watched a great battle between two drivers throughout the twelve laps of the final, the biggest gap between Brian Calabria and Kyle Zink throughout came at the completion of lap four when the gap blew out to .341 of a second. On lap ten the gap was only 64 one hundreds of a second. Brian Calabria led until the completion of the eleventh lap before Kyle Zink went on to take the win by just .189 of a second, third to Matthew Klein who finished just .437 of a second further back, Klein running in fifth position through until the completion of lap seven moving past Daniel Benfield up into fourth, then, two laps later passing Daniel Meek to secure the third position. Kris Usher moving past Matthew Weatherly on the second lap held the sixth position throughout, Donnelle Waldon in ninth early dropped back to tenth behind Karl Dunn on lap eight but only for two laps before regaining the position and finishing ninth overall. Geno Dangles running eighth at the completion of the first lap had a great battle throughout with Matthew Weatherly to finally finish in eighth position one back from Weatherly in seventh. Daniel Benfield third early dropped back to finish fifth in front of Kris Usher, Daniel Meek another great battle with Benfield to finally capture fourth. The fastest lap recorded by Matthew Klein with a 51.818 on lap four.

Clubman Light & Heavy Combined Heat 1

James Wilkins (CL) led all the heats and final of Clubman Light from his “brother” well that’s the way I called it, but was to find out just before the start of the presentations that evening that it was actually his “father” Edward, who ran second throughout the day in the class, third in the final going to Alex Staatz a P Platter, well done. The fastest lap recorded in the final by James Wilkins with a 52.169 on lap twelve. The Clubman Heavy class was won by Christopher Williams from Paul McNeil in second and Joshua Herne up from Lismore in third. Christopher Williams recorded the fastest lap for the Heavy class with a 53.364 on lap six. The total entry for the combined classes just ten, four for Clubman Light and six for the Clubman Heavy.

A field of twenty drivers took to the track for the first heat, with Trent Usher, Christopher Were, Craig Holmwood and Nathan Waldon the first four after the completion of the second lap, next moving up to fifth Ricky Goddard then Chris Meek and in seventh Mark Keilar, eighth Anthony Knight, ninth Anthony Grant and tenth Lee Fritz, lap three saw Usher take the lead from Holmwood second and Were dropping back to third, Mark Keilar up to sixth, Knight to seventh with Chris Meek back to eighth, no change ninth and tenth, lap four and we saw no change in the first five, Knight up to sixth, Meek now seventh, Grant up to eighth with Mark Keilar dropping back to ninth, still Lee Fritz in tenth. Lap four with no change the first five, Knight up to sixth, Meek back to seventh, Grant up to eighth, Mark Keilar dropping further back to ninth and Lee Fritz still in tenth. Lap five and the first twelve were unchanged, eleventh Allan Howard, twelfth Mark Uzzell, Lap six and the field remained as was the last lap, except for two drivers taking no further part in the heat, Stephen Wilkinson and Rick Franzolini, Lap seven, first three no change, Goddard up to fourth, Nat Waldon back one spot to fifth, no change the rest. Trent Usher finished the heat with a win by .288 of a second over Craig Holmwood with Christopher Were in third. The fastest lap recorded by Rick Goddard who finished fourth with a time of 53.059 on lap four.

Tag Restricted Heavy Heat 2

On the second lap Anthony Grant moved to the front from Matthew Nowland back to second, third Anthony Knight, fourth Allan Howard, fifth Craig Holmwood, sixth Trent Usher, seventh Ricky Goddard, eighth Nathan Waldon, ninth Michael Fritz and tenth Lee Fritz. Lap four saw Anthony Grant in the Trent Usher now second, Craig Holmwood third after a pass on Matthew Nolan on the fourth lap, Lee Fritz up to fourth after passing Nathan Waldon on lap six. Anthony Grant securing the win in the second heat by a margin of .848 of a second over Trent Usher, third going to Craig Holmwood just .103 of a second further back. The fastest lap recorded by Craig Holmwood with a time of 53.091 on lap seven.

Tag Restricted Heavy Prefinal

On Lap two Craig Holmwood led from Anthony Grant then Chris Were third, fourth Mark Keilar, fifth Nathan Waldon, lap three no change, lap four still no change, lap five we saw the same four in front with Knight up to fifth, Waldon back to sixth, seventh still Ricky Goddard, eighth Trent Usher up past Lee Fritz now ninth and Michael Fritz tenth. Lap six we see Christopher Were up to second relegating Grant back to third, no change the rest, except for Wilkinson up to seventeenth with Jenkinson back to eighteenth. Lap seven of eight and the field remains the same as in lap seven. The win goes to Craig Holmwood, second to Chris Were and third to Tony Grant, the fastest lap recorded by Trent Usher who ran eighth with a time of 53.177 on lap seven.

Tag Restricted Heavy Final

Anthony Grant leads the first three laps from Craig Holmwood with Rick Goddard in third, Grant drops back to second on lap four with Craig Holmwood taking the reins at the front, Usher up to fourth, Chris Were drops to fifth, Anthony Knight running sixth, Nathan Waldon back in seventh, Warren Neinert in eighth and Rick Franzolini sitting in tenth, Chris Meek drops out of the top ten back to eleventh. Lap five not change the first two, with Trent Usher up to third, Goddard back to fourth, Knight fifth, Waldon sixth, Lee Fritz in seventh and Chris Were dropping all the way back to eighth, then Neinert and Franzolini. Lap six Usher continues his march forward up to second now, Grant back to third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth no change, Chris Meek up to ninth, Franzolini still tenth. Lap seven no change with Keilar, Godley and Uzzell all out, lap eight Goddard up to third Grant back to fourth, no change fifth and sixth, seventh now Chris Were and eighth Lee Fritz, ninth Chris Meek and Franzolini still tenth, lap nine no change first eleven, Stephen Wilkinson up to twelfth Warren Neinert back to thirteenth, all square the rest. Lap ten all still square, lap eleven still no change, the final lap sees no further changes, Craig Holmwood takes the win by 2.125 seconds over Trent Usher, third a half a second further back to Ricky Goddard, fastest lap recorded by Craig Holmwood with a time of 53.006 on lap nine. Overall on the day went to Craig Holmwood from Trent Usher then Anthony Grant third.

Tag 125 Heavy Heat 1

A field of seventeen drove out onto the track to do battle in the first heat, Clem O’Mara taking the first heat win by a margin of 1.395 of a second over Daniel Creed, then Keel Farrell the best of the rest 3.790 seconds back in third, Klinton Hancey always a good performer at Ipswich fourth .719 of a second back and fifth Pete Mitchell a further 3.060 seconds back in fifth. Martin Swindles, Patrick Maher, Nicholas Ross and Simon Skinner recording D.N.F.’s.

Tag 125 Heavy Heat 2

Reverse grid for the second with Steven Vidler taking the early lead from Patrick Maher second third Andrew Gibson and fourth Bradley Dawson, next Klinton Hancey in fifth. The next lap sees Maher move to the front relegating Vidler back to second, third still Andrew Gibson, fourth Klinton Hancey moving forward, Dawson back to fifth, lap four sees no changes, lap five the first five as before, sixth now Clem O’Mara, seventh Martin Swindells back one place, Jarad Neinert and Daniel Creed up to eighth and ninth respectively with Nicholas Ross in tenth. No change the first six on lap six with Martin Swindells dropping back to eighth, Jarad Neinert up to seventh, and the penultimate lap sees Clem O’Mara up into fifth, Dawson back to sixth, Creed up to eighth and Martin Swindells back to ninth the top ten sees Nicholas Ross into that position. Patrick Maher holds on for first, second going to Steven Vidler and third Andrew Gibson, the fastest lap recorded by Clem O’Mara with a time of 51.400 on the sixth lap.

Tag 125 Heavy Prefinal

Clem O’Mara jumped away and led throughout the eight laps, second after a move pass Steve Vidler on lap four we saw Klinton Hancey secure this position, third after starting from the third row of the grid was Jarad Neinert, fourth after a good drive going to Andrew Gibson then Patrick Mather up into fifth. The fastest lap recorded by Clem O’Mara with a time of 51.175 on lap five.

Tag 125 Heavy Final

Klinton Hancey led the first five laps before a move from Clem O’Mara saw him relegated to second, Jarad Neinert held third throughout as did Andrew Gibson fourth, fifth Patrick Mather starting from grid eight and working his way forward first past Brad Dawson on lap two then on lap five past Pete Mitchell, to secure the fifth position in the final. The fastest lap again recorded by Clem O’Mara with a time of 51.211 on the final lap. After the worst of the day was dropped, the overall on the day for the Tag 125 Heavy class, Clem O’Mara from Klinton Hancey with Jarad Neinert third.
