Karting News Briefs

the first news briefs for week 48...

  • The 100-Lapper at Cairns on the weekend turned into a non-event. "The day promised to be okay, but as it wore on the storm clouds appeared on the horizon" club Secretary Annette Dodge informed KartSportNews. "Drivers arrived and confirmed entries and got to complete practice (but) it started to rain for the start of the heats. Round one was completed and then the thunderstorm arrived in full force drenching us all and flooding parts of the track and pit areas."

  • If a race meeting you attended does not get a report published here on KartSportNews, it is simply because we never received one. We're happy to publish race reports and photos from any Australian karting event, providing we can find someone who can email the detail within a few days of the meeting. So, who can help us out with that? Further info HERE.

  • And speaking of comprehensive race reports, the Oakleigh Kart Club's final race meeting of the year was run on Saturday with the report published on Monday. Photos have now been added - see HERE.

  • Both Kerbrider and Master Karting will be trackside at the Victorian Closed Titles in Portland this weekend with their respective trailers and van. Both stock all the usual parts and consumables, and Kerbrider will also have a range of Alpinestars racewear.

  • Series organisers have announced the Picton Kart Track as the venue for the deciding round of the 2014 Australian Schools Karting Championship.
