"It's been a fun four years with a great bunch of people" she wrote on Facebook. "I will really miss our daily antics, jokes, cupcakes, trips away, coffees, lollies and of course sharing an office with Donald! • Looking for a job in karting, but in North America? Top Kart USA (based in Indianapolis) are looking to fill numerous positions: a full-time sales representative to assist current Sales Reps, plus a full-time shop mechanic to oversee the operations of kart assembly and the race team. There are also weekend staffing options. Interested parties should send resumes to Apply@TopKartUSA.net

  • Rubens Barrichello and Tony Kanaan have won the annual 500 mile kart race in Brazil for a record breaking 9th time. The duo was joined in the Hanier Racing team kart on the weekend by Felipe Giaffone, Rafael Suzuki and Gaetano di Mauro. This was the 17th running of the annual end-of-season race in Brazil. The race started dry before showers in the second hour. The victors completed 612 laps, four more than the second placed kart. Video below is of the start of the race and the first hour (and there's a crash in the very first corner of a 500 MILE race!).

  • ART Grand Prix will enter an official team in international Rotax events next year. Under the guidance of team owner Tomi Tuokko, ART GP will have its own truck and technical staff and will field its drivers in all Rotax categories – Micro MAX, mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX and DD2 – of the Rotax MAX Challenge Italy and international series. ART is working on an evolution of its chassis for the Rotax categories. The official presentation of the ART Rotax team will happen in the next few days.

  • DEA Technology Ltd (UK) has released a single cylinder Superkart engine. The DEA SK250 Single will cost 3,900 Euro, but that does not include items like carburettor or exhaust. Honda CR 250 gearbox, clutch, rotor and stator will fit this engine. Strangely, if you wish to order an SK250, you need to name your mechanic and sign a declaration that you and/or the mechanic "won't make any change nor sell/borrow/show the engine to anyone else... without DEA consent".
