Preston's Big Year

press release 20 December 2013

2013 was a big year for Gold Coast-based cadet Jac Preston.  He started karting and joined the strong team of Queensland-based Praga Cadet racers and he hasn’t looked back since.

Via the support of retailer KAOS Karting and mechanic Tony Grant, Jac has been able to follow in his dad’s motorsport footprints and has ignited a passion for racing.

His huge year has included racing at state titles, Race of Stars on the Gold Coast and travelling to the US to race with Praga North America at the Las Vegas Supernats against 84 other TaG Cadets, racing with the higher powered Mini Rok Vortex engines.

The year was capped off with the presentation of the 2013 Cadet Champion annual trophy by Warwick Kart Club at their presentation night last weekend.   Jac was then doubly stoked when club president, Peter Lane, announced Jac would also receive the perpetual trophy for Most Improved Junior driver of the year.

Jac said, “I am super happy with all the great times we have had racing throughout the year, it has been a huge learning curve but I am really looking forward to racing on in 2014!  Receiving the trophies are a huge honour and they have previously been awarded to lots of drivers that I look up to.

"2013 has been an amazing year for me and I couldn't of achieved what I did without the enormous amount of help and support I received from Tony Grant, Kenny for IPKarting (Praga Karts), Pete, Josh and Lynda from KAOS Karting, Kevin from LDE Corporation, Des from Power Republic, Troy Hunt from Top Gun Driver Academy and Mark and Aaron from Sign Event.”
