Tiger Kart Club's January Fun Day

On the weekend the Tiger Kart Club's season got underway at Cockburn Raceway with the Fun Day race meeting where drivers get back into the swing of things with a ½ day race meeting comprising 3 heats and no official points to the club championship.
A great turn out enjoyed what were reasonable conditions for mid-January with a nice sea breeze cooling things down just as the racing started.

Our dedicated and hard working committee get the job of staffing this meeting each year and it was much appreciated by all the competitors so they could enjoy the chance to shake down the many new karts we saw and get some much needed racing laps in before the season starts in earnest.
As with each new season it was great to see lots of P-platers, many of whom were racing for the first time, enjoying the action and getting the hang of our great sport.
Lots of families were also at the track cheering on their drivers and helping out in the pits. Karting truly is a great family sport and the Tiger Kart Club has a fantastic family atmosphere where everyone can enjoy a day at the track.

The club also put up special prizes at the end of the day for all the P-plate drivers and we warmly welcome all the new members into the club and hope they enjoy the racing season ahead.
The drivers all did a great job with smooth starts and nice clean racing all day, well done to all.

Our next meeting, the Western Cup, will be at the Wanneroo track and what a huge meeting this will be - a day/night event that should attract over 200 competitors and already has the largest field of KZ3 karts ever assembled in Australia entered for what should be an amazing racing event.
Entries close Feb 1st so get onto the CMS system and make sure you don’t miss out on one of the biggest karting events for 2014.
