Winning Start To 2014 For Formula K

press release 4 February 2014

Formula K Australia team has started the 2014 season the same way they ended the 2013 season at the recent round of Rotax Pro Tour at Todd Road.

For the second round in a row of Rotax 2014 ranking, Formula K drivers have made the podium. First was Callum Walker finishing 2nd in Junior Rotax class and also setting the fastest lap in the final. Callum also maintained his 1st place in the series points with another solid result. Special mention to Nick Andrews who ran inside the top 3 all weekend and the final until contact with another kart forced him to retire.

Andrew Carey displayed his superior speed to finish 2nd in the hotly contested Rotax Light field. Andrew has also maintained his second position in the series points. Jayden Sharrod made the jump to senior for the first event and did not disappoint. Jayden ran as high as 2nd in the final but late contact with a driver saw him drop down to 6th place at the chequered flag - a great debut for Jayden into the senior ranks.

Dylan Collet climbed his way back to second position in the final of Rotax Heavy after a poor start. It was a good solid result in a small but very completive Rotax Heavy field. Dylan has also maintained his second position in the series points with his consistency.

Special mention goes to Adam Lindstrom who ran inside the top 3 in DD2 all weekend, only to be taken out of the final at the first corner, ruining a certain podium position.

Formula K Kart has extended their point lead in the Manufactures' Cup in the Rotax series with these fantastic results and it is a credit to all driver for putting on a great show for the brand.

"Another fantastic job done by all Formula K drivers" Formula K Australia's Jace Lindstrom said.

"We are expected to do well at this event by all and we definitely didn't disappoint again. Our top drivers are expected to do well and when they need to deliver they do and that is a credit to them and all the hard work we have put in over the off season. To maintain the top spot on the Manufactures' Cup is just a another way we have shown we are the real deal and not going to taper off our work load to succeed."
