anyfink to do with karting...

  • Another great video from the Australian Vintage Kart Prix!

  • This is a threat to karting - online gaming. While the article in the following link is not about racing games, the fact is, millions of young people around the globe spend lots of time playing online games. The barriers to participation are far smaller hurdles than those one has to jump to get involved in real karting. With professionally organised competitions offering (significant) prize money, plus endorsement deals for the top players, it's an attractice pastime for people to take up. And there's a huge (and growing) spectator interest - 32 million online viewers for last year's League of Legends final. Click HERE to have a read about it (thanks to karting1.co.uk for tipping us off on this artice!).

  • The Phillip Island round of the SKA Australian Superkart Championship, originally scheduled for 23-25 May, has been changed to September 19 to 21. "This change is totally out of our control and is brought about by the management of Shannons Nationals event scheduling" SKA advised members. What will now be the opening round of the ASKC will run at Sydney Motorsport Park on July 11th to 13th.

  • Dubbed the world's youngest racer, two-year old Piero Pascazio has been invited to drive his kart at the Ferrari Racing Day festival at Sydney Motorsport Park on April 12-13. The Gold Coaster will drive his specially-modified kart at the venue and is set to meet with Ferrariā€™s Marc Gene, who will perform similar demonstrations in an F1 machine. Further information, photos and video on the drive.com.au website HERE.

  • Are the kids missing too much school while travelling to and from karting events? In America, professional teacher Brittany Doyle Lobaugh has started a service called "Trackside Tutoring". She coordinates with the student's teachers to help administer various learnings while at a race meeting. The Trackside Tutoring service will be at future Florida Winter Tour and Challenge of the Americas events. Read more about it (and a video) on kart360 HERE.

  • Oh yeah, lots of people can relate to this...

  • Preparation of the Warrnambool Kart Club's facility continues for the second round of the Austrans Victorian Country Series. "With the generosity of many local businesses, a veranda has been built on the canteen" Gary Shiells (WKC President) informed KartSportNews. "It will provide an excellent spot to get close and view the racing. New concrete paths will make it more accessible." The event takes place on April 13. A link to the Supp Regs is on the Race Calendar page.
