Vic Country Series - Round 2 Preview

press release 6 April 2014

Round 2 of the 2014 Austrans Victorian Country Series heads to the Lake Gillear circuit of the Warrnambool Kart Club on Sunday the 13th of April. The undulating circuit always makes for exciting racing with the combination of flowing corners and hairpins giving drivers a good chance to make some great passes.

As with the first round, entry numbers are expected to be high, with over 110 already received. There will be spot prizes drawn for those who enter by 5pm Wednesday. The prizes will be drawn on Saturday during practice to enable that racing gets underway early on Sunday.

Two local drivers looking to continue their good form from the first round at South West are Billy Askew and Corey McCullagh.

The TAG Restricted Super Heavy class was dominated by Askew at Cobden. With more entries expected for the second round, Askew will have to dig deep to keep his clean run alive on his home circuit.

McCullagh is the other local driver expecting to have a good run at the front on home soil. With his win at the Victorian Closed Titles and other strong performances around the State, he will certainly be a driver to watch come Sunday.
