press release

New York resident Roger Ralston enjoyed fantastic results at the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) season opener this past weekend at the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina. The KartSport North America driver competed in the competitive Leopard Pro class and among top drivers, Ralston stayed cool and owned the field to produce wins both days. Ralston looks forward to the rest of the 2014 USPKS season with confidence.

The weekend started out with Ralston second fastest in Friday's timed practice session. The team didn't quite hit the right setup for new tires on Saturday and qualified ninth, however they fixed the issues and managed fifth and third place finishes in the heats for an inside row two starting spot in the day's final. Catching and passing the driver in second place on the first lap, Ralston slowly inched his way closer to the leader, making the pass happen on lap ten and holding his position until the finish.

"Just a perfect race for me," says Ralston after the Saturday final. "I am definitely looking forward to tomorrow."

On Sunday, Ralston hit an unfortunate low in the first heat, with his chain snapping in the warm up lap. Rebounding with a win in his second heat, he qualified for a mid-pack start in 16th for Sunday's main event. In the opening lap, he gained ten positions and began his pursuit of the leaders. Halfway through the race, Ralston saw himself in second place, with the leader still way out front. With his kart on point and maintaining a consistent drive each lap, Ralston began to close the gap.

Ralston added, "Luckily, I was able to catch the leader and pass him for the win on the last lap! It was unbelievable! I can't thank everybody for the tremendous support this year. What a great start to the USPKS series."

The exciting weekend at the USPKS Opener is surely a good sign for things to come this year for Roger Ralston. The up and coming driver will be competing in not only the entire USPKS series, but also the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour, Rotax Summer Shootout, United States Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Nationals and the Rotax Pan American Challenge.

Roger Ralston would like to thank Benny Small for a great setup, KartSport North America, and Brandon Jenkins from Comet Racing Engines. A big thanks also goes out to Directview Security Systems and Roger's parents for their hard work and continued support.
