Former Williams F1 Exec Joins Karting Australia

Long-time Marketing, Brand and Commercial Manager Chris Styring has been elected to the Board as Marketing Director at today’s Karting Australia Annual General Meeting.

Styring, who has formerly held roles in the Williams F1 team, Ford Motor Company (Australia) and Tennis Australia, brings a wealth of knowledge to the skills-based Board of Directors. He currently heads up the Sports & Entertainment Division of Sweeney Research.

Styring brings extensive knowledge of motorsport and marketing to the Board having worked with some of the world’s best known marks such as BMW, Renault, Kia, Ford, Michelin, RBS, HP, Lacoste, Rolex and Rip Curl.
“We welcome Chris to the Karting Australia Board and look forward to the experience he will bring to the sport,” said Karting Australia Chairman Mick Doohan.

“As a sport, we are entering a whole new era and believe Chris’ understanding of the motorsport landscape and associated brands will assist us greatly in taking karting in Australia to a whole new level.”

In addition to Styring’s appointment, incumbent Administration Director Melissa Holzberger was re-appointed for a further three-year term.

Styring and Holzberger sit alongside fellow Directors Mick Doohan (Competition), Bradley Collins (Technical), Craig Denton (Operations) and Phil Smith (Finance) on the six-person Karting Australia Board.

At the first meeting of the new Board Doohan was unanimously re-appointed as Chairman.
