IAME VICTORY IN KF AND PODIUM IN KFJ

Tom Joyner triumphs in KF on the circuit of Zuera and Daniel Ticktum catches the second step of the podium in KFJ in a week-end worth to be framed!

KF

IAME signs the Spanish triumph thanks to the World Champion Tom Joyner (Zanardi), who wins after a week-end in crescendo: 8th after the qualifying practice and 5th after the qualifying heats, he is then 3rd in the pre-final and 1st on the final podium. A memorable race! Disappointing result for the winner of the first round Callum Illot, 20th at the end of the final. The Englishman starts from the top with the best lap time in the qualifying practice and beside some difficult qualifying heats, he is still able to get the 8th place after the count of the penalties and still the provisional leader of the overall standing; too bad he is out of the pre-final after 6 laps and is so forced to recover from the back in the final.

His fight for the title is still open with the 5th position, right behind Joyner. Dabski (Praga) and Martijn van Leeuwen (Zanardi) do well, but they are affected by some bad luck: the Polish is 6th at the start of the pre-final but finishes 20th and then 26th in the final, the Dutch, instead races a wonderful pre-final, overtaking 6 opponents and finishing 6th but in the final he slips down the middle of the group and finishes 16th.

German Hannes Janker’s (Zanardi) performance is worth of mention: twice 5th in the qualifying heats and 12th in the final with lap times close to the best of the race. Italian Kevin Lavelli (Comer) recovers 14 positions in the final and finishes 20th. The balance of the meeting is fantastic: 6 IAME drivers in the top 20 and 8 out of 11 at the finish line of the final.

KFJ

Daniel Ticktum (Zanardi) races with determination and ability: 9th at the start of the pre-final where he finishes 4th and then promoted to 3rd following Ulysse De Pauw’s penalty; he then completes the masterpiece taking the 2nd place on the podium. De Pauw (Kosmic) is also one of the IAME protagonists: the Belgian driver is fast right from the beginning of the event: 2nd and 3rd in the qualifying heats, he then overtakes 7 opponents at the start of the pre-final and beside the 10 seconds penalty, he doesn’t give up and in the final he recovers up to the 8th place also scoring the best lap.

Another important name of the event, David Beckmann (Tony Kart), comes behind him: he starts in 4th place in the pre-final but loses some positions; in the final he recovers well and finishes 9th. The German driver is 6th in the overall standing, right behind Ticktum. Benjamin Lessennes (Kosmic) also stands out even if somehow unlucky: 5th after the qualifying heats, in the pre-final he scores the best lap of the entire meeting but is caught in the game for positions and finishes 11th. He leaves the final, while he was 2nd, only one lap from the end, due to an accident.

Rasmus Lindh (Praga) does a good race: he overtakes 6 drivers in the pre-final (12th) and in the final he well recovers a contact, with a climb to the 17th place. Marta Garcia Lopez (Zanardi) is determined: 2nd place and best lap in one of the qualifying heats and in the final she ransoms from the contacts suffered in the pre-final and recovers 8 places up to the 20th position.
