  • Kartsport New Zealand has confirmed the two major karting series in the country - the NZ Rotax Max Challenge and ProKart (KZ2) - will continue to run together in 2015. Each of the six rounds will be run over two days to an identical format. The actual Rotax and KZ2 gearbox classes, including Masters divisions, will be confirmed at a later date. It is hoped dates and venues will be confirmed before the end of June. "Both the NZ Rotax Max Challenge and the ProKart series continue to form one of the many pillars to KartSport New Zealand's pathways to success both locally and on the world stage" the governing body stated.

  • Result of the elections at the Melbourne Speedway Kart Club AGM on the weekend: President - Michael Van Ginneken; Secretary - Rex Gourlay; Vice President - Peter Ghent; Treasurer - Amanda Cusack; Committee members - Nick Cusack, Wayne Bould and Steph Cooper.

  • Great on-board clip with Andrew Kahl in the second KF3 final at CIK Stars of Karting round 3 on the weekend. Starting 22nd, he was 8th by the fifth lap!


  • Lucky escape, near miss - call it what you want, but this loose wheel, which came off a KF kart at Genk on the weekend, could have done some serious damage if it had hit somebody...

  • SKUSA has announced a reduction of the minimum weight for competitors utilizing the IAME X30 engine in TaG Senior and TaG Master. After considerable evaluation, testing, and input from competitors, it has been decided to adjust the weights to the following: TaG Senior: 370 lbs (168kg), TaG Master: 400 lbs (181kg).

  • Rotax has updated its "Kart Cloud". Chapter 3 is now accessible for all curios racers eager to learn more about karting. Chapter One is "Basics & Equipment", Chapter 2 is "Performance Prep" and the new chapter is "Keeping it Simple", which explains how to make your life easier while on the track.   • Video of Super 1 Karting MSA Series round 3 in the UK. The GYG (Glan Y Gors) Park track looks like a lot of fun with the undulations!


  • Info for Bob Hinde Memorial / Festival Of The Kids at Grenfell later this month. This is an opportunity for Victorian and SA karters to get some laps in on the way to the QLD State Championships, as Grenfell is the host club for the 2014 NSW State Championships in October. It's also quite central to all the Eastern states being a days drive from Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. Entry is restricted to the first 30 paid in each class. With the help of sponsors Bar Up Bullbars, DPE Kart Technology and Supercheap Auto, there two chassis as prizes for the Cadet/Rookie and Junior class drivers:
