Intrepid Leads Euro Senior MAX Points

team press release 24 July 2014

Last weekend, on the International Circuit of Zuera in Spain, under a scorching sun, the 3rd Round of the Rotax Max Euro Challenge involved drivers coming from all over the World.

Intrepid can’t miss this important event as, in the Senior Max class, it is leading the championship. Although the English Edward Brand missed out on the Podium by a whisker, his 5th place in the Final permitted him to retain his lead in the championship with 230 points.

It was also a great performance for the Canadian Zachary Claman Demelo who, in the Final, obtained the prestigious 3rd place result, ahead of his expert teammate. The driver, arrived from overseas, raced with determination in his Intrepid Raptor and demonstrated excellent skills. Claman Demelo is now placed 5th in the Senior Max championship, 40 points behind Edward Brand.

The Intrepid team, present with the official pit structure, also supported it’s drivers in the Rotax Junior Max and DD2 classes, competing against some strong competition. In fact, in the Final of the Junior Max, the young Maurizio Van Der Laan performed to the crowd an exciting recovery from 15th to finish 5th place. In the DD2 category, some technical problems stopped Xen De Ruwe from climbing onto the podium, after his recent successes at the NSK and BNL races.

The event brought great satisfaction for Intrepid, and is now looking forward to the next and conclusive round at Salbris, France.
