  • Karting Australia has announced that Rob Crawford has been appointed as a Director filling the casual vacancy created by the resignation of Bradley Collins recently. "Crawford has extensive motorsport experience at the highest levels as team manager and has previously been a competitor in karting" KA published. "He has experienced considerable success in Australian motorsport with four Bathurst wins and two championship victories at the Holden Racing Team." In accordance with the Association’s Constitution, casual vacancies are filled by the Board until the next Annual General Meeting.

  • As revealed in the CIK-FIA homologations list (published HERE back on October 1), IPK (now called Innovative Products for Karting) will be producing the Formula K chassis. While there is still no official statement, this does not appear to be a merger in the sense of the Birel/ART GP arrangement. Formula K will still field their driver Bas Lammers, have Cash Van Belle managing the race team under the supervision of Andrea Bertolini. It's just that the karts will be manufactured by IPK (who already have their own Praga and OK1 brands), but still to Formula K's specs and design. The change will not affect the local distribution of either brand.

  • Mini & Micro MAX motors, available through Project X Racing for the 2015 Rotax Pro Tour:

  • An Australian made (Ballarat, Vic) safety device was launched onto the motorsport market this month. "Brase Yourself" is a head and neck protection system that has been developed over recent years here in Australia and in the United States. "This system not only provides protection against frontal impact, but also from side impact, which other systems just can’t and don’t provide” company founder Paul Cleveland advised KartSportNews. Testing has been carried out by drivers in speedway, circuit racing and rallying, plus karting and even motorbikes.

  • Patrizicorse's Michael Patrizi has informed KartSportNews that dealers for Ricciardo Kart have been appointed in all major states. They will be officially announced in the coming month. “It’s been an 18 month project and Daniel and I are both very happy that we have teamed up with Birel ART as our manufacture" Patrizi said. “Ricciardo Kart is an exciting project for Birel ART" Birel ART president Ronni Sala is quoted. "(this) starts off our new venture in a very positive way. Michael and Daniel have been working hard on this project for some time and we are very happy we have made it a reality for them both.”
