Oscar Piastri - IAME World Finals, Day 2

from Oscar Piastri in France 16 October 2014

Today was the first day of practice.

The first two sessions were dry but unfortunately I had to run-in my race engines during these sessions so could only manage a few fast laps at the end of each.

My pace was okay but I was looking forward to a full session at race speeds. Then the rain came down.

The third session was spent learning the wet lines, I was fast in some sections but losing time in others, especially the last section leading onto the straight.

After some discussions with Alex my mechanic, I had some ideas what to try next. In the final session I had great pace and was among the fastest drivers.

Tomorrow I hope for some more dry practice so I can continue to improve.

Qualifying is tomorrow night (Thursday 16th) and there is more rain forecast, either way I'll be trying my best.
