Zanardi Report: SA Closed Titles

press release 9 November 2014

Wallis strikes in Tag L final whilst Mangos blisters the lap record!

Tag 125 L:

This was a cracking final as the states best went head to head and was always going to be a tough win in this premier class.

Kristian Harris was showing incredible speed mid race fighting for 4th place just off the lead group when a move into T3 saw him have a collision ruining his race. But nothing could be taken away from his team mate Daniel Wallis he drove a faultless and calculated race Daniel headed the race from the start and never looked back by mid race he had a comfortable lead and was driving to the perfectly to the tracks condition and with 4 laps to go when under attack by second Daniel rose once again and drove off to finish with a comfortable margin.

This was a proud moment for ZCA as Daniel has been apart of the group for 2 years and this year has been by far his kartings best, The methodical work load and calculated driving is showing why he is one of this states leading drivers. Well done Daniel.

Cadets:

This was a smart race for Blake as he was doing as he set out to do, which was help to break free and try to make it between himself and just 1 other if they could go with him late in the race, This plan turn south when he was driven off the track by 3rd place in a desperate attempt to stay with the leaders. Blake gathered him self and fought back to 5th place. well done little fella.

Alex Montagu was having an incredible first half of the final until a later diagnoses shows his engine was well past optimum temperature therefore losing power. Good driving Alex.

Open performance:

Well this was a class act by Jonathon Mangos after resetting the lap record during qualifying he was never bothered and in the final drove a faultless race to take an outstanding and well deserved victory. His relentless esting regime has certainly shown vast improvements with Jonathon in Kz and cant wait to see him next year.

Frankie Maiolo Struggled with kart setup all weekend but drove a great final finishing 2nd and will certainly be one to watch in time as he undertakes a KZ testing program during the off season.

David was basically handed a 3rd position when Daniel Wallis couldnt make the final due to an engine failure. David and Brett Purdie had a hard fought battle in the final crossing the line bumper to bumper.

JMax:

Josh Had a tough weekend not being able to find the balance of his chassis, but battled on in the final to finish 5th. Good Job mate bounce back at the next event.

Tag Res 125 H:

After A solid start to the weekend Nathan Harris had a mechanical failure in the prefinal which would see him off the rear for the final... Well WOW is all I can say watching him come through the field with a determined passion was great to see and for him to finish 2nd was outstanding well done mate that is certainly your drive of the year.

David Brewer snr after a 15month break made a return and was straight up the front with a good qualifying and great heat racing and just being pipped at the post By Nathan. Well done dad.
