Fantastic Day to Close out a Wonderful Season

The 2014 Championship season for the Central Coast Speedway Kart Club officially came to a close on Saturday the 6th Dec with the Annual Presentation Gala Day held at Avoca Beach on the banks of the lake.

This years event was well attended and some people were saying that it was the  biggest seen for a number of years.

Families and  friends of club members gathered to enjoy the day and reflect on the wonderful season and celebrate with the victors.

After successfully hosting 8 Championship rounds, The Annual 50 lap Shootout, The Junior Development Day and of course The Australian Speedway Kart Titles everyone is entitled to a well earned rest before kicking it all off again on Feb 7th 2015.

On the day a number of awards were handed out. Firstly the club acknowledged all the wonderful volunteers that help make the season run smoothly. Over 20 gifts were given to these people as an appreciation of their hard work and the time they give to the drivers and to let them know that their efforts are not taken for granted.

Long serving member Mick Conner was awarded Life Membership for his dedication and time over many, many years that he has given to the club.

Two very hard working members of the club , Les Green and Greg Ryan were awarded Honorary Membership for the tremendous amount oif time and planning and efforts they collectively gave the club in 2014.

President elect for 2015 Mick Bell really stepped up to the plate this year and did amazing work for the club promotionally along with volunteering and race meeting preparation and this effort did not go unnoticed with Mick being awarded Club Member Of The Year.

On track this year the racing in all classes was as hard, fast and tight as it has ever been. The Championship Award place getters for each class were as follows:

Cadets
3rd Place – Skye Loader , 2nd Place-  Jac Laneyrie ,  2014 Champion – James Angilley

Rookies
3rd Place – Jack Selmes , 2nd Place – Luke Geering , 2014 Champion – Sean Morley

Junior National
3rd Place – Matt Geering , 2nd Place John Gillespie , 2014 Champion - Jake Donaldson

Clubman Light
3rd Place – Jade Pollock , 2nd Place Luke Ward , 2014 Champion – Nick Gilbert

Clubman Heavy 
3rd Place – Matt Angilley , 2nd Place Max Risbridger , 2014 Champion – Peter Styles

KT Modified Light
3rd Place – Amy Shute , 2nd Place Dan Morris ,  2014 Champion  - Jake Baines

KT Modified Heavy
3rd Place – Chris Keppie , 2nd Place  - Les Green , 2014 Champion -  Jason Bisset

The 2014 season drivers all have the opportunity to vote for a number of awards to give to their peers and in 2014 the drivers voted:

  • Jac Laneyrie the 2014 junior Most Improved Driver
  • Matt Angilley the 2014 Senior Most Improved Driver
  • Skye Loader the 2014 Junior Drivers Driver
  • Les Green the 2014 Senior Drivers Driver
  • Chloe Angilley the 2014 Junior Encouragement Award
  • Matt Angilley the 2014 Senior Encouragement Award

Two drivers topped all their rivals and became the 2014 highest point scores. In the Junior classes it was Jake Donaldson and in the Senior classes it was Jason Bisset.

Finally a number of perpetual trophies are awarded each year . In 2014 this were awarded to:

  • The Brad Archer Award winner was Jade Pollock
  • The Alan Charlier Award was also awarded to Jade Pollock capping off a great season
  • The Trophy Hunters Award for 2014 went to Jake Donaldson

So 2014 is in the record books and now a well deserved off season awaits the committee and members of the CCSKC.

Congratulations to all those who were victorious throughout the season and thank you to all the members that made it another successful season for the club. 2015 is going to be even bigger so enjoy your break get plenty of rest - you’re going to need it.
