Jess Golding Motorsport drivers celebrated strong performances at Round 2 of the Ipswich Kart Club Championship last weekend, with the team showcasing their development, precision, and speed on the new track ‘A‘ layout, navigating qualifying and more racing laps and walking away with multiple podiums and top 10 finishes.
Olivia Walton and Oliver Jones secured a 1-2 victory in Cadet 9P, while Alistair Leggat and Xavier Knight both demonstrated their top 10 potentials in a stacked Cadet 12 field, qualifying racing and finishing inside the top 10 with 6th and 7th place, banking solid points towards the 2023 Championship.
KA3 Junior Light driver Nash Peirano displayed his hard-charging skills by moving from P30 to P22 in four laps during the final race. Though technical difficulties forced him to settle for a P27 finish, his impressive performance proved his potential for future success.
Lucas Lesmes secured his very first IKC podium finish, taking home a close 3rd place in KA3 Junior Heavy, a testament to his consistent performance and focus on improving his skills each race.
In only his second race meeting, Matt Price secured another P11 finish in TaG Restricted Light, highlighting his determination and adaptability in his first outing in the new Charles LeClerc kart, improving his consistency and lap times throughout the event.
Overall, Jess Golding expressed her pride in the team’s achievements. “Our podium finish in KA3 Junior Heavy and 1-2 victory in Cadet 9P demonstrate the hard work and dedication that our team puts into every race,” she said. “We walked away with some strong points towards the 2023 Championship, and these results set the stage for further success as we prepare for Round 3.”
