250 International

1st Ewen Burg

Playing it safe in qualifying saw Ewen roll out on wets which turned out to be a mistake with a very dry line appearing on track. Only managing 3 laps before coming back into the pits to preserve his tyres saw him ultimately bumped off the front row late in qualifying by Doug Amiss (125 Nat).

Some brand new slicks for Race 1 and Ewen took the lead at the end of the opening lap passing Tim Weier in his 250 Nat. A small mistake through the switchback allowed Tim to take back the lead, with the bit between his teeth Ewen put on a brilliant pass under brakes into turn 3 on the final lap taking the win.

Forgetting to put the springs on his front exhaust pipe for Race 2 saw him driving one handed while holding onto the LAMDA sensor with the other to keep the pipe on. Race 3 & 4 saw him engage in great scraps with Tim Weier in his 250 Nat but ultimately Ewen had too much pace taking both wins.

Another round of development and the Bat mobile is getting faster. Watch out at the last round when Ewen can really stretch the legs of that PVP

250 National

1st Tim Weier
2nd Lachlan Crisp
3rd Tony Fiveash

Continuing his perfect run for the year Tim made it another 4 from 4 race victories although it wasn’t without a little drama along the way with a spin in race 4 allowing Lachlan to get on his back bumper but a mistake by Lachlan a couple laps later locking up the front tyres into turn 3 and going down the escape road let Tim off the hook.

Tim Wear #89

Great to see Lachlan back after missing the last 2 rounds and it didn’t take him long to get his Anderson GAS GAS dialled in, he’s keener than ever for the last round in November.

Tony Fiveash rounded out the podium, Tony smashed his PB’s all weekend and really got his teeth into driving a 250 National. If not for a moment pushing maybe a little too hard clipping a curb resulting in a spin and stall during the Handicap race that he likely would have won.

250 National podium

125 National

1st Doug Amiss
2nd Lindsey Jamieson
3rd Nicholas Raymond

With both Tim Philp and Russell Jamieson absent from this round all eyes were on Doug to clean up and extend his lead in the class championship and he didn’t disappoint. Doug had a faultless weekend even putting brand new Dunlop rubber to lower the 125 National lap record for the switchback layout with a 1:06.685

Lindsey Jamieson started the weekend strong dialling in his Anderson TM combo before a mysterious engine gremlin appeared in race 4 resulting in a DNF.

Nicholas Raymond had been on a quick rise up the ranks since joining the club this year and keeps improving every session, he did have a mixed bag though, a sieze on Friday due to loss of coolant put him on the back foot and introduced him to world of cleaning aluminium off the barrel with acid #2strokethings and missing qualifying. Race 1 & 2 & 3 he was showing pace before coasting too much on the cool down lap after race 3 saw the piston stop going up and down inside the barrel and another introduction to the acid (he’s almost an expert now).

125 National podium

125 NGB Heavy

1st David Dyson

85cc Gearbox

1st Cody Collins
2nd Michael Smith

Fantastic to see another new face joining the club with Cody Collins making his debut in the 85cc Gearbox and taking to it like a duck to water. Cody had a blast mixing it with David Dyson in his NGB Rotax on the Saturday before a minor misjudgement by David in Race 3 saw him mow the grass loosing a chain and burning the clutch out ending his weekend.

Cody continued to chip away at his lap times improving by over 2 seconds from race 1.
Michael Smith was back after his debut at Round 3 and loving every minute and continuing to improve every race shaving nearly 4 seconds off his lap times by the end of the weekend.
