International Karting Distributors has posted the following update and clarification regarding its relationship with OTK:
UPDATE AND COOPERATION OTK AND IKD
In response to the news that OTK are establishing their own distribution warehouse in Australia, IKD would like to communicate the following information.
In recent years OTK has been on an aggressive expansion plan globally with distribution warehouses in Europe, USA, Asia, Japan and now Australia. The rumour has been around for many years that Australia would be next and now it has become a reality.
For many years IKD shared the distribution of OTK products in Australia with two other distributors so the recent developments are not all that different to what we have had in the past.
IKD has had a very long and successful relationship with OTK and it is for this reason that IKD will continue to source products directly from Italy under the same business conditions we already had.

Every time something like this happens it can be very surprising how the story gets twisted and the rumour mill runs rampant so we would like to put a couple of bullet points that hopefully make the situation as clear as possible.
- The newly formed OTK warehouse in Australia is 100% owned by OTK Italy and will be ran by employees.
- IKD is still buying the OTK products we need directly from OTK Italy.
- IKD will continue to distribute OTK chassis and spare parts. Australian customers can now choose where they wish to buy their OTK products from.
Lastly, IKD is not going anywhere!
