Having earned enough points to claim yet another Australian Kart Championship, Victoria’s Brad Jenner has announced his retirement from the driving seat.
Jenner made the announcement at the conclusion of today’s AKC round, after another superlative drive in the X30 final.
The JND/Alonso driver is bowing out at the top, a fact identified by team boss, Nick Percat.
“No words can describe the level Brad is at” Percat posted.
“The championship he has pieced together and the drives in all conditions this year have been nothing short of incredible.”
“Thanks to such an amazing team” Jenner added. “A truly incredible way to end my karting career.”
Despite confirming his retirement, Jenner will contest the final round of AKC at the undulating Oakleigh circuit before putting an end to an astonishing driving career.
While he won’t be racing karts, his future competitive desires will be met by a totally different discipline – marathons!
“Next chapter for my journey is to run a heap of marathons and stay fit and healthy” he told KartSportNews.
“I’ll probably still do some driving to stay sharp and fit, (but) no racing.”
He won’t be lost to the sport however, and will still be around karting in 2025.
“Next year I will be involved with helping the JND team” he confirmed.
