Superkarts! USA and International Kart Federation regional champions recognized
The 2024 season for the Texas Sprint Racing Series presented by DeFacto Racing concluded in September, hosting the fifth and final round of the championship program at the Amarillo Kart Complex in Panhandle, Texas. That weekend, the champions for the ninth season of the Superkarts! USA and International Kart Federation regional program. On the year, the series welcomed just over 900 entries over the five events on the season in the IAME, Briggs & Stratton 206 and Honda categories.
The championship chase in the KA100 Senior presented by CRG Nordam went down to the wire between two drivers. California driver Jesus Vasquez Jr. and Aden Rudolph were able to stand on the podium in all five events and win twice each. The bonus points for top qualifier and points from the heat races added together to their main event results separated the two by only 20 points, with Vasquez securing the season championship over Rudolph. 2023 champion Peyton Phillips secured one win in the season, finishing the year third in the standings. Jake French and Landon Skinner completed the top five in the standings. The category also received the DeFacto Investment championship bonus purse, for the class with the most competitors on the season. First place received $1,250, second place $750 and third taking home $500.
The KA100 Junior class presented by P1 Engines featured four drivers winning the five main events on the season. The only driver to double up in the win column was Louisiana driver Tyrone Kemper Jr. Round One and Round Five victor stood on the podium only twice, but secured enough points to claim the series championship. Forty points back was Round Three winner David Ybarra. Matching his two podium results was Tyler Roberts, finishing a close third in the final championship standings. Santiago Duran and Round Four winner Nathan Golseth finished fourth and fifth in the standings with an all new top five from 2023 to 2024.
The KA100 Master by Hi-5 Performance class welcomed a new series champion. Pierce Baldus was able to outscore multi-time defending champion Miguel Mier for the 2024 title. Both Baldus and Mier won one main event on the season, and despite Mier earning one more podium finish over the five events, Baldus scored 107 more points on the season. Two-time race winner David Pergande ended up third on the championship podium. Fourth on the season was Kyle Walther with two podium finishes while Brent Harper was fifth in his return to karting.
206 Senior presented by Slipstream Racing class was another championship that went down to the wire. A string of three podium finishes in the final three rounds, including a win at Round Four promoted Bryce Frank to the top of the championship standings for his first series title. It was an improvement from second place in 2023 for Frank, who edged out multi-time Junior champion Ragan Saville by 13 points. Saville won twice on the season, earning three podium results to start off the year, but unable to return to the steps to help him claim the championship. Fellow two-time winner Truly Adams from California managed to finish the season third in the standings, completing only four events. Kelvin Xing improved from last year to end up fourth in the championship with two podium results while Camryn Reed ended the season with one podium result to finish fifth in the standings.
A new slate of drivers made up the top five in the 206 Junior presented by Saville Electric championship standings. Robert Arana was on the podium four times over the five events in 2024, including one victory to claim the series championship. Chris Tracey was second in the standings with two podium results, finishing 65 points out of first. Shelby Ramirez won at Round Three for one of two podium results to end up third in the championship chase. Mia Johnson finished the season fourth in the standings while Maui Angell made only two starts on the year, winning the final two rounds of the season to end up fifth.
Madison Knox was able to stand on the podium in all five main events for the 206 Heavy presented by TB Kart division. Two wins on the season highlight her championship season, winning the title by 170 points over Nick Miller. Three podium results was the highlight for Miller’s 2024 season, with a best result of third. David Roddy had a best result on the year of third, finishing in the same position for the point standings. Christopher White and Zeren Li finished the championship in fourth and fifth.
The championship battle in 206 Cadet presented by Rimrock Raceway was a rematch of the top-two from 2023. Defending champion Aston Wyatt and runner-up Tanner Barsch. In the win column, Barsch was able to earn a better score of three victories to Wyatt’s one. Four straight podium results helped Barsch secure this year’s title by 38 points over Wyatt. Theodore Mitchell had two trips to the podium on the season, finishing third in the standings ahead of Dutch Westbrook and Round Five winner Tyler Morawiec.
Another all new list of top five drivers in the Alan Rudolph Racing Academy Mini Swift championship standings. Four podium results along with three victories helped Alex Chandler earn the series championship. Nicolas Orbezo finished second, 150 points back with four podium results of his own. Pasha Ali had one podium in four starts, earning the third step of the championship podium. Aston Wyatt and Oskar Guss-Wunderle finished the year fourth and fifth.

Two drivers accounted for the five wins on the season in Kart Racing Solutions Micro Swift class. Kimo Ahmad was able to secure victory over the first three rounds before Dutch Westbrook scored the wins in the final two events. It was Westbrook that earned the most points over the championship, securing the title by 10 points over Ahmad. Victor Guss-Wunderle had three podium results over the five event to finish the standings in third. Tyler Blackwood and Kasen Sanders were fourth and fifth to close out the 2024 championship.
Five different drivers stood at the top of the podium over the five events for the Honda Kid Kart presented by Gallery Furniture category. Round Two winner Bodhi Beyer was able to secure the most points over the series to secure the 2024 championship title. Caiden Tuter was 106 points back in second, with a best result of third twice. Raif Ali had two podium results to finish third in the championship chase. Round One winner Holden Henson finished fourth in the standings with Beckley Anderson in fifth.
The Shifter class by Houston Freightliner Western Star contested only four round of the 2024 schedule. Vincent Cossard won the first three, helping him to claim the championship by 320 points over Camryn Reed. Noah Zarsk ended up third in the standings with Luis Mendez and Derek Proctor completing the top five.
The top three in championships for the Texas Sprint Racing Series received awards for their efforts, except for 206 Heavy and Shifter who did not meet the minimum requirements for prizes.

The Briggs and Stratton 206 classes were provide the following: Champion – 2025 TSRS Series Package with one set of tires and 2025 IKF GrandNationals entry with two sets of race tires; 2nd place – 2025 TSRS Race Entry for two events and 1 set of tires; 3rd place – 2025 TSRS entry for one event.
Mini Swift and Micro Swift divisions were provided the following: Champion – 2025 TSRS Series Package with one set of tires along with a SKUSA SuperNationals 27 entry with race tires; 2nd place – 2025 TSRS Race Entry for two events and 1 set of tires; 3rd place – 2025 TSRS entry for one event.
The Kid Kart class was provided the following: Champion – 2025 TSRS Series Package with one set of tires along with $1,000 presented by Gallery Furniture; 2nd place – 2025 TSRS Race Entry for two events and one set of tires along with $500 presented by Gallery Furniture; 3rd place – 2025 TSRS entry for one event along with $250 presented by Gallery Furniture.

- Round Two: May 30 – June 1
- Round Three: July 18-20
- Round Four: September 19-21
