Above: Is this the Invention of the Year? Arrow's new X1 listed a floating machined billet alloy brake disc hub that featured a "self loosening system for quick axle changes". What's that mean? Well, the idea came from DPE's former National Champion Brett Davidson and the small cap screw bolt in the picture is the key. When the standard clamping bolt is loosened, it backs out and comes into contact with the small capscrew head. Loosening the bolt further pushes the capscrew head up and opens the hub freeing it from the axle even further - no more forcing screw drivers into the gap and belting with a hammer to get axles out!

Above: Another good invention is Tony Kart's seat mounting bracket. The straight rod clamps to the underside of the chassis rails (Tony Kart measure seat height relative to the chassis rail, not the ground which is affected by ride-height and tyre settings). The threaded and therefore adjustable swivel plate has been added by Pro Karting. Jordie Lindstrom explained to KartSportNews they can simply adjust the height of the pad and know the seat will then be set at the required position ready for drilling.

Above & Below: Someone got adventurous with the CAD software... Apparently there is nothing in the AKA or CIK regulations that ban such a device. State and Federal laws might be a bit of a problem...
