Geelong Track Times & Track Improvements

The Geelong Kart Track will be closed again this Saturday (Jan 26) for what is hoped will be the final works prior to the state championships.

The circuit will be open Monday through to Friday, plus Sunday and the following Monday. Track times are strictly between 9.00am and 5.00pm.

Massive pit changes and installation of a corner lighting system are the primary reasons for the closures. There will now be concrete roadways between all the pitting areas and a new pit area out the back of K-Rock Corner that can accommodate another 80 karts.

The electronic light control system, that will be operated from Race Control and is the first Victorian circuit to feature such technology, has also been installed. More expansive concrete in the public areas, improved tyre barriers, new phones and internet are all part of the upgrade. "We just had to shut the place down to get the work done" Geelong's Dominic Albanese told KartSportNews.
