Britek Scholarship Starts On Winning Note

press release

Britek Motorsport Scholarship driver Scott McLaughlin has taken out the Victorian Junior Clubman karting title at Geelong.

Following his victory at the recent 'Top Gun' Junior Clubman Series at Oakleigh Kart Track in Melbourne, 14-year-old McLaughlin dominated proceedings at the Victorian State Titles.

Against 38 of the best junior karters in the country, McLaughlin took pole position by just under 0.1 of a second, before sweeping all three heats. He won the final by 1.539 seconds; not even getting a scratch on the Britek Motorsport liveried kart.

"We came into the event very well prepared and took that into qualifying and the races," said McLaughlin.

"It was a big field and there was plenty of stiff competition. It was important that we were on our game and attacked all the way.

"The support from Britek Motorsport has been great and to debut the kart in the Scholarship colours also added to the excitement.

"I had fellow Britek Motorsport Scholarship driver Taylor Gore along for the day. Although he's moved-up to Formula Ford, his local knowledge of the track and advice was a bonus. It really shows the benefits of this programme."
