Ferrucci & Neri Score Victories In Moroso FWT

press release

San Yves Motorsports drivers Santino Ferrucci and Nick Neri put on another excellent display of driving this past weekend to take one victory each at the second round of the Florida Winter Tour (FWT) held at Moroso Motorsports Park. The Cadet and Junior Intercontinental A pilots will now head to the Ocala Gran Prix facility in March and look to secure the FWT championship.

After placing second after Friday afternoons timed sessions, Floridian Nick Neri (above) was looking to improve that position in weekends racing action. Holding steady through qualifying and the pre-final on Saturday, the talented pilot would stat the feature event outside row one and would hope to battle for the lead. As the race ensued, a heated battle between a quartet of drivers emerged but when the dust settled it was the rookie Neri who would stand atop the podium.

Sunday proved to be a little tougher for Neri as a broken chain on the first lap of qualifying would force him to start the pre-final at the tail of the field. Looking to advance his position and set up a good starting position for the final, the S-1 Maranello driver did just that as he cut through the field like a veteran to finish in the fifth position. Neri was poised for another victory at the end of the day on Sunday but had to settle for P2 and an 80 point advantage in the championship heading to the final round in March.

Santino Ferrucci (right) would once again dominate the Cadet division at the Moroso Motorsports Park facility as he claimed the quickest times in both Friday afternoons timed practice sessions. Looking to continue his success on Saturday, Ferrucci claimed the pole position and won the pre-final only to finish third in the final after a hard fought battle with two other competitors.

Redemption would come on Sunday for the young driver as Ferrucci had a perfect day. Santino claimed the pole, won the pre-final and dominated the final to cross the line by more then seven seconds ahead of his closest rival. This type of dominance is unheard of in the Cadet class where racing action is generally very tight. Santino will now head to the Ocala Gran Prix facility in March with a 75 point advantage over his teammate.

Santino wished to thank his sponsors who make all of this possible.  Planet Hollywood Casino, Cantor Fitzgerald, SWATCH, liveperson.com, Deutsche Bank, and Mike Tettrault of Grand Products.
